- ReefLED 90 LED Light Fixture - Red Sea
Reef-Spec Light Output For Optimal Coral Growth & Coloration
Over the past few years, Red Sea has dedicated a lot of time to testing and researching LED lighting, and the culmination of those efforts resulted in the ReefLED 90. Designed for optimal growth, while producing great coloration with a pleasant shimmer effect. Red Sea didn't stop with great function and form. They integrated the control of the light into the ReefBeat smart aquarium app and the built-in WiFi lets you directly connect the light to your smart device to set the daily schedule, color, intensity, and other features.
- Optimal Output For Maximum Color & Growth
- Perfectly Blended Light with a Slight Shimmer
- Reef Safe Dual Channel Control with Moonlighting
- Easy to Control With ReefBeat App
Maximum Spread - 24" X 24"
The ReefLEDs use an ingenious recessed LED cluster that eliminates glare from normal viewing angles. This focuses light into the tank, while the specialized lens provides a homogenous light mixture that blends nicely in your aquarium. The Dual Channel settings let you customize the lighting for your viewing preferences while ensuring the overall spectrum is acceptable to corals and other animals that depend on it for their energy.
Total LED Power - 90 Watts
Reef Spec Blue - 80 Watts
8000K White - 10 Watts

Integrate all of your Red Sea equipment into a single source interface, ReefBeat! Available for Android or iOS devices, ReefBeat lets you connect directly to your Red Sea ReefLED light for daily schedule programming, scroll through the included programming library for tested schedules, or create your own custom in just a few minutes. Once you get connected a whole slew of additional features can be unlocked, such as a 28-day lunar cycle, cloud cover effects, and also staggered sunrise and sunset times that are super easy to program.
- Peace of Mind
- Lunar Cycles
- Acclimation Mode
- Weekly Schedules

Tuning Your New LED Light
Most LED lights will actually put out more light than your corals will actually need and without a PAR Meter to test the overall output, it is really hard to guess if the light is too dim or intense. We highly suggest using a PAR Meter to test the output of your lights at different points throughout your tank that you can use to tune the lights output or know where to put specific corals.
Not worth the time! By Court on 6/18/2020Court wouldn't recommend this product to a friendPlease beware that the light needs to be controlled by a poorly made app. If you google reefbeat app and see all the one star reviews on this light, which will enlighten you on how frustrating the app is. I can't even get the light to run because the app is very poorly made which I contacted BRS customer service and refund isn't possible. The light is probably great however the app that controls it is just not worth the hassle.
Great Product By Brian on 4/7/2020Brian would recommend this product to a friendThese lights are an amazing upgrade from the T5's that were over my tank and I have had no issues with WIFI connectivity or the app. I had everything set-up and running in about 20 minutes and they have been working as scheduled since. This is a great all-in-one light without having to buy a bunch of extra accessories (WiFi adapters, modules, etc).
I wanted to love this light By Mike on 3/26/2020Mike wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI really tried to make this light work, but am finding 2 huge issues and one minor one that have caused me to give up and attempt to resell it...
Major issue #1: The connectivity. This light loses connection to the app very often, severely hampering the usability. I’ve had to drop the light’s config from the app at least once a week and add it back in, a major hassle. I’ve also experienced an app update breaking the app when the light was connecting, so needed to delete the app, reinstall, and reconfigure the light to gain control of it again. I’ve tried hard resets from the light, hard resets in the app, and the battery removal and replacement to try to get around this to no avail. I am tired of deleting/reconnecting this thing and completely re-writing my programs in the case of app failure as well.
Major issue #2: The light emits a very high pitched sound, whether it is lit or not, in a random, intermittent cadence. Its loud enough to hear over the pumps and skimmer on my tank, as well as the pumps/skimmer on the tank next to it. Its distracting enough that I replaced it with an AI Prime HD form a tank I am decommissioning. I had hoped to sell that light, but now its my light for this tank and I’m stuck reselling the ReefLED 90 instead, at a loss of course.
Minor issue: The app really isn’t very good. Its usable (when the light is connected), but you’re required to create a login, even if you’re going to use the light “offline” (i.e. via local network only). Its fairly intuitive, but some of the steps you need to take to get things done just don’t make sense.
I can add a positive note, in that the light spectrum it produces is gorgeous and made my corals look good for the month or so I had it on. That’s why I bought it — lots of video reviews raved about the spectrum and the shimmer for its price — but the light is just too problematic and the sound it emits is maddening. I can give it 2 stars based on the spectrum and shimmer, but if you choose this light be prepared for lots of frustration and some literal headaches. Sorry RedSea, I love your tanks, but go back to the drawing board with your lights.
Love it By Timothy on 2/29/2020Timothy would recommend this product to a friendSet up was easy and straight forward the app walks you right through it. Love the programming options and the controllability.
So far so good *** Upon Further Review *** By KYLE on 2/27/2020KYLE wouldn't recommend this product to a friendi really dont like speaking poorly about products, however this light is HOT GARBAGE!!!!! Ive gotten endless connection issues with the lights, causing 1 to completely turn off and then not be able to connect to the Reefbeat app. Be prepared to hear how your Wifi is the issue and you need new router, modem etc. funny thing is no other device is dropping connections, not my apex, echo tech eq, TV's, phones, tablets, notta nothing.
Total Garbage By AH on 2/26/2020AH wouldn't recommend this product to a friendTOTAL GARBAGE!! I bought 4 of them at Christmas and they constantly disconnect on me. Also problems with a glitch in the app. It's like being a Beta customer for RedSea. The time zone would change (by hours) and the lights won't turn on. RedSea had me reinstall them using the 2.4 GHz because they won't run on 5.0GHz. Didn't solve the problem. I reinstall almost every 2 or 3 days. Power supplies are unbelievably hot (scary hot). My tank is beautiful underneath these lights but the lights are undependable. Shame on RedSea for releasing these lights with all of these known issues.
Trash By Jonathan on 2/11/2020Jonathan wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI cannot beleive i bought this lights. They keep disconnecting at least twice a month. Then you have to take the lights apart, remove the battery and put it back togheter. Super simple steps and not a big deal as per red sea, i guess i missed this detail when i was looking into this lights. Red sea forgot to mention you will have to keep messing with them because they dont work like they should. It is unnaceptable that red sea released this unfinished product and charged the price they charge for it. Unless you like to be hands on taking apart and putting back togheter things thats should work, stay away from this junk.
Great Color By ray on 12/16/2019ray would recommend this product to a friendSo far so good. just ordered my 3rd one. I will keep you all posted
Best Lights! By Arturo on 8/27/2019Arturo would recommend this product to a friendI bought 2 of these lights for my 65 gal tank, my corals love them since the first day. The setup with the app was easy. I don't know if is a great upgrade for my corals since I had some medium output led lights but visually the corals look great. I don't check yet the PAR, but I try to keep my SOFTIES in the sand bed, LPS in the medium and SPS corals in the top of my rocks (12”/24” deep).
IN RESUME... 10/10
easy/bright By Miles on 8/5/2019Miles would recommend this product to a friendI did not think this would be the best or work like they hyped it to be. I can say that it is super easy to use. the light is great corals fish and inverts are loving it. I am loving this light. has sun raise sun set a overcast mode acclimations modes. you can set and just go or customize to a degree. they are releasing a share settings thing soon also. also the light arm you have to buy will only fit rimless unless mode to rimmed witch I admit was sketch. I would buy it again.
So far so good By KYLE on 8/5/2019KYLE would recommend this product to a friendGot a couple for my tank. Lights were super easy to setup, link to wifi and connect to through the Reefbeat app. Setting up on a daily schedule, choosing spectrums, acclimation, etc was very easy to sort out for first time LED user.
Replaced AI Prime By Caleb on 7/19/2019Caleb would recommend this product to a friendLights are great, love the color and output!
The spread of light while having the bulb recessed is amazing, it is one of those things you don’t know you want it until you have it.
Now let’s talk performance.
My tank is 48” long by 24” deep
Running an Aquatic Life T5 Hybrid 15” off the water
Replaced 5 AI primes (non HD) with three ReefLed 90
I could have gone with four, but they suggested three.
PAR chart seems to be accurate to what my Seneye was reading. This is with the T5 off
400 PAR 6” from the water (highest coral)
150-250 PAR in most of the middle area.
100 PAR on the sand bed.
Overall I’m very satisfied with the purchase as I can now pump out the blue spectrum(240w of blue compared to 125w from 5 Primes at 25w of blue each ) while using the T5 for Purple plus(I like the red pop), and Blue plus(produces enough of a “white” light for me)
As for how I mounted these on the AI Prime version of the AuticLife T5 hybrid, not safely I can tell you that much. Actually dropped on in the tank while installing it, thankfully I had a screen top and fast hands. (Dried it off and it’s working fine)
I purchased the 49” hanging kit which includes 3 hanging trays(then proceed to waste the rest of the kit)
I mounted these between the slots of the hybrid fixture, supergluing the light into the hanging tray, and the hanging tray to the cross bars. Absolutely ZERO options for screws...
All in all it works, hopefully Aquatic Life with come up with their own bracket.
Is there a fixture for these lights that will fits on rimmed tank like a 40 breeder?
Unfortunately there are no hanging kits for this light that will work with a rimmed tank, only rimless.
Will these new Redsea lights fit the mounts that came with the all-in-one Redsea tanks? Specifically the MaxE-170 that came with the AI light.
That mount is for AI primes only and will not work with the Red Sea lights.
How much space do I need to mount the bracket/light to the back of the aquarium? Currently, I only have 2 1/2" of space between the wall and the back of the existing aquarium.
It will extend nearly 2" from the back of the glass. Should fit if you have 2.5".
What is the warranty on these? I’ll need several for two tanks and don’t want to spend that kind of money for a light that only lasts a year.
Thank you for reaching out to us. The warranty is 1 year, however, the light should last well past that with proper care!
Please let us know if you need anything further and take care!
Hello I was wondering how many of these would be recommended for a 75 gallon tank
For a 75g system we would recommend at least 2 which would provide sufficient coverage for a mixed reef tank. In higher demand systems or systems where large colonies create more pockets of shade you may want to add 1-2 additional LEDs down the road to ensure even PUR distribution and intensity.
Happy reefing! c:
