Reef Flux is a fluconazole treatment that is effective against certain fungal fish infections. It contains no fillers or additives and is lab tested for purity. A notable side-effect of fluconazole is that it is extremely detrimental to bryopsis algae.

Previously known as Algae Buster, Reef Flux is an aquarium fluconazole treatment that is effective against fungal fish infections. To avoid unintended nutrient spikes it should not be used in tanks with refugiums that have Caulerpa and Bryopsis.

Note: Not effective against hair or other turf style algae.

Directions:

  • Turn off skimmer for first 3 days, and remove activated carbon and any chemical filtration for the duration of treatment. GFO and Phosban can remain in place since the media only removes phosphates.
  • Empty 1 capsule for every 10 gallons of tank water (20mg per gallon) into high flow area in the sump. After 14 days perform a minimum 30% water change. Do not overdose. Filter socks are recommended during treatment in order to help clean the aquarium.

Contents: 10 Capsules

Active Ingredient: Fluconazole 200mg per capsule.

Only for use on ornamental aquariums and fish. Not for human use and not for treating fish intended for human consumption. Keep away from children and animals. In case of accidental overdose, contact a health professional immediately.

Product Questions

BRS says to not overdose, but it says on the bottle that overdosing won't hurt anything except to speed up the process... So which is it? And can I use my UV during treatment?
Question by: Matthew Quick on Dec 28, 2023, 6:14 AM
Here at BRS we like to err on the side of caution and we do not like to overdose on any product. As for running your UV, we would recommend turning it off during treatment.

The directions online seem unclear, do you add 1 capsule per 10g of water every day for 14 days? Or do you only add it once at the beginning of the treatment period?
Question by: Alex Nies on Aug 12, 2022, 9:43 AM
Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us. It is just once during the 14-days.

Please let me know if you need anything further and take care!

Does this work on bryopsis too?
Question by: Cherub on Jan 24, 2018, 7:12 PM
Unfortunately, a side effect of Reef Flux is that Bryopsis may not survive.
