Not a deserving product for the Two Little Fishies name By Brian on 5/24/2019Brian wouldn't recommend this product to a friendIt’s very difficult to assemble. Instructions actually tell you to use hot soapy water! The anti siphon device doesn’t work very well and if you try to disperse a thick paste onto your corals the tip will clog. I spent more time with the product out of the water fixing minor issues than with it in the water feeding my corals. I eventually gave up and fed my corals using the broadcast method.
Better than anticipated but a little but leaky By NaCl Creep on 8/23/2018NaCl Creep would recommend this product to a friendI have used this device for 2 things- feeding corals with powdered coral foods and as an as an aptasia killer using kalk paste. It's so much better and more accurate than a syringe. The one and only downfall of the tool is that the stuff in the syringe tube will fall/leak out of the tip between plunges. Example- I fill the syringe with kalk paste/joes juice. I nimbly and accuratley cover an aptasia with the paste. As I pull the tip away from the aptasia the kalk paste will leak out of the tip of the syringe until I either pull the plunger to create a suction or face the tip of the syringe up so nothing can leak out. This is okay with food, but with a toxic media you will risk coming in contact with other corals.
Overall- would buy again and again. This device just takes some getting used to.
clumsy but works By Brian on 8/3/2018Brian would recommend this product to a friendspot feeding it does well. loading it up does take some time however and it is pretty cumbersome while doing that.
no way it blows off sand or debris.
FWIW. I have a large tank (350G) and feed about 1/2 cup of rods food.
Worth the money By Collin on 4/22/2018Collin would recommend this product to a friendPrecise, efficient, with quality material to match. I bought the 3pk. of replacement tips, would recommend you do the same. Allows you to customize tips to match the food(s) you're feeding.
Once you assemble it works great! By Brian on 2/9/2018Brian would recommend this product to a friendI thought this was difficult to assemble with the instructions given. I had to go to youtube to find a video. But now it works great and I can feed directly to the corals without wasting food and clouding the tank.
That Thingy By Jon on 7/31/2017Jon would recommend this product to a friendLove this thing! Super easy to target feed corals without getting my hands wet. There are times when it does leak a little though. Wish they would make some rubber gaskets to stop that but overall, great product!
Great product By Fitz on 12/24/2016Fitz would recommend this product to a friendI am surprised by some of the negative comments here. I believe them to be overly critical. The tubes go together with.a little effort and patience like anything else in the hobby. I didn't even use hot water. Tool works great if used properly. It only takes in water if the user retracts the plunger, which is great. This is unlike a baster or pipette which if you release the end immediately draws water. I currently use it to spot feed, which it does with ease. I suspect getting additional tips to clip larger holes will make it more effective for other uses.
It's okay By William on 8/21/2016William wouldn't recommend this product to a friendIf you're target feeding, it works great. You don't get your hands or arms wet. It's a little difficult to assemble but if you hear the couplings up in hot water it does help. You can't use it to blast sand off of your rocks, there is simply not enough pressure. I could see where using an aptasia medication could be an issue too. Overall it does what I need it too so I give it a thumbs up.
Sorry....junk By William on 5/23/2016William wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThis has potential, but much like the Trump/Clinton campaigns, it does suck. When you submerge the tip the water pressure fills the tip with water. Not very good if you are using with aptasia x or other meds. It dilutes the product. They make a turkey baster with longer tubes which are much better. Why BRS is even stocking this product is beyond me. It is a great try, and if you want to feed a blasto without getting your hands wet, it's perfect. It does NOT do all these actions that they claim. In fact, it does very few unless you have a 30 gal tank. Small tanks it would do well.
Worthwhile purchase By Snulma1 on 12/16/2015Snulma1 would recommend this product to a friendIf you are buying this to spot feed or target aiptasia it will work phenomenonal. But if you are buying to help suction debris up in your tank, keep looking. It doesn't generate enough suction or enough force to blow off your LR.
Testing By Rob on 12/11/2015Rob would recommend this product to a friendWow! Way better than the syringe and air hose I used in the past! It's pricey, but target feeding is fast and easy and no more getting hands wet and spilling water out of the other side of the syringe. Definitely op for extra tips for other feelings.
Pretty Good By Matthew on 8/7/2015Matthew would recommend this product to a friendThe only drawbacks to this product are as follows. Its a little hard to put together, I feel like one of the sections should come assembled so be prepared to boil some water to assemble the tube sections. Secondly the flexible tubing is very pliable so it stretches out quickly and comes loose from the syringe. Aside from these two minor things the product is awesome and it makes target feeding very easy.
