Good But Bad By Shane on 2/16/2019Shane would recommend this product to a friendDoes really good at setting up fast but if you don't use it all quick, it will set up in the bottle. Did everything I could to seal it off so that would happen but now I have 1/2 a bottle that I can't use.
excellent By Redick on 5/9/2018Redick would recommend this product to a friendThis product is excellent and is viscous enough. When used with accelerator has been an excellent purchase. Bottle is easy to use, and use again.
Best glue I have used By Jim on 2/25/2018Jim would recommend this product to a friendI love and hate this stuff. Glues well, firms up quickly in water. But it clogs up in the bottle nozzle and I am buying the smaller size because of this. They recommend putting it in the fridge but this makes it too thick. I am leaving the current bottle at room temp. I also tend to get it on my hands but I think that is lack of coordination :)
meh By Cherub on 12/29/2017Cherub wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI bought this with high expectations but the glue is terrible. It dries slowly, the bottle is always plugged, I've lost polyps using this. I need to find a better glue...
TERRIBLE By Paul on 12/9/2016Paul wouldn't recommend this product to a friendEcotech has a vast array of effective products, however this one was a severe letdown. This glue is one of the worst glues/epoxies I have ever worked with. This glue is terrible at adhering to surfaces underwater and If you can actually manage to get it to stick to your rock or a frag plug it typically wont stay stuck for more than a day. Save yourself the money and get some of the BRS extra thick glue it works much better.
GARBAGE By Terry on 11/4/2016Terry wouldn't recommend this product to a friendReally surprised this glue was so bad coming from a great company like Ecotech. All the other products I've bought from them, and their customer service, has been awesome. I'm especially pissed I bought the large bottle, and ended up throwing it away.
Just about everyday I find a piece that has came off the rock in my tanks. So now I'm in the process of replacing multiple frags to rock mounts with different glue.
I've been in the hobby for years and never had a problem with glue until using this stuff. Just thought I'd warn you guys.
Don't let the Ecotech fanboys fool you! By Randy on 4/16/2016Randy wouldn't recommend this product to a friendWhile Ecotech does certainly make amazing, and innovative products for the reefing community, this is not one of them. The glue somehow manages to give the illusion that your frags are being held to your rock, but in reality, its just gonna be in the sand bed a minute later. Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere!
Would not stick to live rock or come out of bottle By Clint on 2/4/2016Clint wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI was let down by the performance of this glue. It took lots of effort to get it to stick to submerged live rock and the bottle is very stiff which does not allow for all of the material to be easily dispensed.
Not the glue you want By jsbull on 1/2/2016jsbull wouldn't recommend this product to a friendMy experience started off poorly when I received this. The cap was leaking and it took pliers to be able to get it unscrewed and unclogged.
Be ready to chew it off of your fingers because you CANNOT use this stuff without getting it everywhere. Which leads me to say that it seems to stick to everything I don't want it to and be mediocre on everything I'm trying to glue.
I have used it on corals glued to live rock, which snails have later knocked off. I'm also trying to glue some GSP to my back glass and I've glued 4 frags. Each morning is now a game. Which one fell off over night? Oh, I picked #3, but it was #2. Give me a break. It's a difficult game.
LIVEWRECK nailed it. When this stuff is in the water, it's a very annoying putty that won't grip anything. It's really something to avoid.
overprice By gerliba on 9/8/2015gerliba would recommend this product to a friendit's a good product I like it but I think it was overprice other projects do the same thing as this one also ill dry really fast and dry inside the bottle
Overpriced By joe on 7/23/2015joe wouldn't recommend this product to a friendWay too thick and clogs up fast. The BRS glue is much cheaper and better.
good stuff By peter on 6/25/2015peter would recommend this product to a friendpretty good glue. wish there was an easier way to break that skin after putting it in salt water and getting it to stick to the rocks. sometimes it seems it won't stick to anything but your fingers. but that is with all coral glue. just wish somebody would come up with something better
With the benefits of having "glued rock" in place, as a beginner to the hobby, why would you want to glue to rocks in place together? I have seen things that suggest when introducing new fish, you want to rearrange your rock to help with less aggression to the new fish from the established ones and to help prevent the "protecting my space" that tends to happen with the established fish.
The easy answer for gluing rocks is so they do not get knocked over and break or scratch the tank. This happens more often than not when not secured well or when working in your aquarium. Most rocks do not fit together well to make an aesthetically pleasing pile with out balancing or gluing them. Most fish in the reef tank will tend to not be aggressive as this clashes with many of the most common reef safe fish. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
