Dragon's Breath macro algae (Halymenia durvillei) is one of the more popular red macroalgae varieties in the hobby, though it’s still less common than staples like chaetomorpha. Looking at its bright red coloration, it's not hard to see why it's a highly sought after choice for macro algae focused systems or even as an accent piece in a reef tank. It isn't commonly used in a traditional in-sump refugium, but could certainly be used in that way to help with nutrient export and natural filtration.
Eye Catching Coral makes every effort to provide clean, healthy macro algae, but it is not guaranteed hitchhiker-free. Like most macro algae in the reefing hobby, it may occasionally include small hitchhikers. A visual inspection before adding it to your aquarium is recommended.
