Growing algae in a refugium setting can help manage and combat reef tank nutrient issues, like phosphates and nitrates. One of the biggest keys to a successful refugium is having the proper light. Zetlight's E200 LED Panel Light is designed for refugiums, with light spectrums peaking in the 450-480nm to 580-650nm range with over 55W of power almost any refugium will benefit from upgrading to this light. There are a couple of better lights for growing macroalgae on the market, most notably the Kessil H380, but when comparing pricing the Zetlight E200 is a great option.
With the Horizon App, or with your home's router you can control the E200 LED light through your smartphone. Controlling the light allows you to set multiple points throughout the day with ramping and spectrum changes. The Horizon App lets you access their cloud technology that can communicate to the light from anywhere there is an internet connection. Horizon does require that your light is connected to the internet through a WiFi connection for the app to access it.

Lasts a year By Litefever1 on 11/23/2019Litefever1 wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI purchased an E200 and an E200S on 11/13/2018 and 11/18/2018, respectively. Both are installed in cabinets above sumps and have accumulated condensation inside their casings which has resulted in electrical shorts despite the gasketing which looked like it was designed to keep their internal components moisture free. Of course I didn't realize there was a problem until their failures resulted in simultaneous algae outbreaks in both tanks. Shame on me in trusting them. Shame on them for marketing these as refugium-compatible lights. Will not replace these with the same lights.
App doesnt work By Rodney on 7/7/2018Rodney wouldn't recommend this product to a friendDownloaded Horizon App. Connected light to App. Light does nothing. Will not turn on.
Nice light By Terry on 7/1/2018Terry would recommend this product to a friendMicroalgae took off after installing this light. And the pulsing Xenia in the fuge started pulsing like crazy.
This works great! By Tim on 6/16/2018Tim would recommend this product to a friendOne big plus of this unit is that it is sealed and does not rust. I have splashed mine many times while it is on, no problem. Here is a copy of a question I asked of BRS with their answer.
Your Question: I currently have an E200 over my refugium with a chaeto growing area of 22" wide x 15" long x 20" deep. Would a Kessil H380 be much of an improvement for my chaeto growing needs?
Answer: Hey there,
I personally use this light E200 on my refugium and like it over the 380 due to having better even spread that does not burn my alga. I personally would stick with what you have if it were myself, as the 380 would most likely have nearly the same results (little better or a little worse) and cost a lot to get going(400 for light and 100 for the controller if you want that).
Great macroalgae light and great price By Joe on 5/31/2018Joe would recommend this product to a friendI put the Zetlight E200 light over my sump and my cheato started to grow like crazy. In fact it doubled within a week. I was extremely impressed, especially the E200 cost a lot less than the Kessil.
Hi brs. I recently bought a trigger triton 44 and I'm not sure if I have the hight in in my cabinet for a h380, if I mount this light closer to the water level can I get sufficient par to raise ph. My skimmer is hooked up to outside air and my ph seldom drops below 8.10
Also does this light need to be connected to the internet 24/7 or can I program it from my phones hotspot
The light only needs to be connected to a device for programming and then it will store the program within its memory.
