Mixing saltwater is the most important first step in reefing, and the quality of that water has a direct impact on your tank's success. This bundle pairs a high-quality reef salt mix with trusted test kits, proven bacteria, and accurate salinity measurement tools so you can not only get off on the right foot, but continue down the right path as your tank matures.
Mix Saltwater Correctly
Red Sea Coral Pro Salt Mix (175 Gallon Bucket)
This premium salt mix features elevated major elements like calcium and alkalinity, plus it provides the necessary trace elements for your corals.
Approximate Parameters (35 ppt salinity):
- Alkalinity: 12.3-12.7 dKH
- Calcium: 455-475 ppm
- Magnesium: 1360-1420 ppm
BRS Refractometer + Calibration Solution
Accurate salinity is step one. The refractometer lets you check the salinity, while the calibration solution keeps those readings honest.
Measure the Chemistry That Matters
NT Labs Marine Lab Multi-Test Kit
Test for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH. These can tell you a lot about cycling your aquarium and the overall health of your tank.
NT Labs Marine Lab Reef Multi-Test Kit
Tests for calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, and phosphate. The first three are the major elements corals use as they grow. Phosphate can influence coral and algae growth.
Seed the Beneficial Bacteria
MicroBacter7 (250 mL)
Establish the nitrogen cycle faster in a new tank. In mature reef tanks, use it to keep the bacterial population stable as your bioload changes over time.
