Quick Overview

Created specifically for reef tanks and for use in the AFS (Automatic Feeding System) from Neptune Systems. Feeds both corals and fish thanks to a micro-film of coral food that is dispersed into your tank upon contact with water. Then the pellets fall to the bottom for fish to consume. Neptune Systems worked with Reed Mariculture a well-known manufacturer of Reef Nutrition foods. The food was developed to dispense easily from the AFS while bringing out the vibrant colors in your fish.

  • Good for fish that will eat it By BRS Customer on 9/2/2017

Most of my fish like this food but my fish with more narrow mouths (e.g. Black Tang) won't eat it since the round pellets are hard for them to get into their mouth.
  • Fish love it By Chad on 3/8/2017

I use it in the AFS and dispenses perfectly. Fish love it but I notice it does float for a little so I have it dispense into a feeding ring.
  • Fish like it :) By Tom on 1/26/2017

All my fish seem to like it. I switched to this from ELOS after receiving a free sample. I like that the package design makes feeding easy. Just unscrew the cap and shake some in. Food does sink a little fast. But, If added slowly most get eaten before it hits the sandbed.
  • Legit By MandM on 1/3/2016

I was using Hikari MarineS at first in my auto feeder and it worked OK. This costs more but it seems to be about twice the volume. Odd that this doesn't show the actual volume on the packaging but just comparing them side by side, this is significantly more product.
The fish love it. It smells fierce and the skimmer gunk is really rank. But really, who are you trying to impress with the smell of your skimmer, right?
  • Fish like it and Corals seem to do good By Kenneth on 8/9/2015

Stared using this in my automatic feeder when traveling. In the past when I would come home fish looked good but Coral was not looking good. Since I switched to this coral looks good as well!!
  • Fish Seem to like it By Nathan on 6/2/2015

Fish Seem like it, corals seem happy and I'm no feeding corals anything else.
  • Most expensive option. By Tastes Terrible on 4/15/2015

Good fish food. The fish love it. It sinks immediately. I can't get over the fact that this is The most expensive pellets on the market, by far.
  • Looking good By Trojan on 12/13/2014

I also have just started it with the auto feeder, haven't been able to monitor its change yet, still new, and testing new supplements. But the fish eat just the same.
  • love this stuff By Glenn on 12/4/2014

I started using CD about 6 weeks ago when I got the Neptune Auto Feeder before going on a vacation. In my experience, most of it sinks pretty quick and a smaller portion floats on the top. I think the fish might get about 1/2 of it at best and the rest is eaten by scavengers or dissolves to feed the corals. But oh boy have some of my coral taken off since I started feeding this stuff. Then again, the algae has kicked up a notch too. Its all a balancing act. Overall though, I am happy with this tank food, and I happy to see that I could replace the sample that came with the AFS feeder.
  • Tastes Great By claussen on 5/17/2014

Tastes great sprinkled over ice cream, and my tank loves it too.

Hi is this food designed just for carnivore fish? Also is it a universal coral food that comes off of the pellet like a zooplankton or is it only for certain corals?
Question by: Matthew on Apr 20, 2016 3:02:00 PM
Great question!
The food has a variety of different options however is primarily designed for carnivore consumption. This does not contain zooplankton and is only for the large pellet consuming corals like LPS
