AF Lab PO4+ is a concentrated phosphate supplement designed to raise phosphate levels in reef aquariums. Strong filtration media, nutrient-reducing products, and protein skimming can sometimes lower phosphate to undesirable levels, particularly in aquariums with relatively few fish or very intensive filtration.

Phosphorus is an important nutrient for zooxanthellae, the photosynthetic algae that live in symbiosis with corals. Extremely low phosphate levels can contribute to poor coloration, bleaching, and inhibited coral growth, with LPS corals being particularly sensitive to low nutrient levels. AF Lab PO4+ allows phosphate to be gradually and precisely adjusted to the desired range.

Recommended Dosage

Concentration:
1 mL of AF Lab PO4+ increases the phosphate (PO4) concentration by 0.01 mg/L (ppm) in 100 L (27 US gal) of aquarium water.

Recommended Phosphate Level:
0.03–0.05 mg/L (ppm)

Dosing Guidance:
Only use AF Lab PO4+ when phosphate levels are very low. Test NO3 and PO4 before dosing and gradually adjust the dosage until the desired phosphate level is reached.

Maximum Recommended Daily Dose:
Do not exceed 1 mL per 100 L (27 US gal) of aquarium water per day.

Every aquarium is different, and the appropriate dosage will depend on nutrient consumption, filtration, livestock, and the individual needs of the system. Adjust dosing based on regular water testing and avoid increasing phosphate more quickly than necessary.
