AF Lab Barium is a highly concentrated barium supplement for reef aquariums. Barium is naturally present in seawater and, although its exact effect on SPS corals is not fully understood, Aquaforest notes that it is regularly consumed by aquarium inhabitants.

In reef aquariums with high micronutrient consumption, especially SPS-dominated systems, maintaining barium within the recommended range can help keep water chemistry closer to natural seawater conditions. AF Lab Barium allows barium levels to be replenished based on the consumption and individual needs of the aquarium.

Recommended Dosage

Concentration:
1 mL of AF Lab Barium increases the barium concentration by 0.005 mg/L (ppm) in 100 L (27 US gal) of aquarium water.

Recommended Barium Level:
0.001–0.04 mg/L (ppm)

Dosing Guidance:
Dose according to the barium consumption of your aquarium and regular water testing.

Maximum Safe Daily Dose:
Do not exceed 2 mL per 100 L (27 US gal) of aquarium water per day. If a larger adjustment is required, divide the total dose over several days.

Every aquarium is different, and the appropriate dosage will depend on coral stocking and the individual needs of the system. Both deficient and excessive micronutrient levels can negatively affect aquarium inhabitants. Adjust dosing based on regular water testing.

Important Note: These dosing instructions apply to the current AF Lab Barium formula. Older versions of this product may have different concentration and dosing recommendations. Always follow the instructions provided with your specific bottle.
