Aqua Lifter Vacuum Pump’s unique design lifts water with its diaphragm and flappers – pumping water up to 30” high and at a flow rate of 3½ gallons per hour. Ideal for use as a dosing pump for Kalkwasser, auto top offs, calcium reactors and other aquarium uses.
The Aqua Lifter Vacuum Pump is commonly used for applications that don't require precise dosing. They work best for dosing Kalkwasser or as auto-top off pumps. The Aqua Lifter does not have an anti-siphon built into it. If the outlet side of the tubing is below the water level in the input side, it could develop a constant gravity siphon.

We wouldn't normally recommend running a pump continuously against backpressure. This can cause excessive heat buildup and wear on the pump and can greatly affect reliability. Instead, the best way to use this pump would be through a controller or ATO which will turn the pump off when not topping up. A float valve is a fine secondary failsafe, but should not be used as the primary means to cut off flow from the pump. Normally the only constant pressure ATO would be from line pressure from gravity or the pressure generated through and RODI system which isn't relying on a pump to generate the pressure.
