Giesemann has been known for making high-quality light fixtures that use the highest quality parts available, with a durable powder coat finish. Most people will actually call their light fixtures a piece of furniture with how they look. We have run multiple Giesemann lights for years and have been very happy with them. Between Giesemann fixtures and the many other light fixtures out there, just simply the quality of parts and thickness of material make the Giesemann light fixtures our first choice for almost any tank where the light will be mounted externally and be visible.

T5 Lighting has been a proven method of lighting a reef tank that works. For a simple light fixture that is easy to install with either the mounting legs or hanging kit the Matrixx II T5 fixture is an amazing well-built light.
Depending on the number of lamps in the units, the power cords will be able to control different groups of lamps independently. That allows you to set multiple timers or a controller to "ramp" the light up in the morning and down at night. The Matrixx II gives off a beautiful even light with 99.8% reflective reflectors that keep hot spots and shadows from forming and blending all the lamps into one cohesive color illumination.
With active and passive cooling technologies keeping your T5 lamps at the proper temperature for maximum par output and bulb life is taken care of by the Matrixx II fixtures. With a glass panel that seals off the top of the fixture acting as a giant heatsink, while keeping a beautiful aesthetic appeal. The Matrixx II units have a robust heavy duty extruded and formed aluminum alloy for the outer with hand assembly putting them all together. All parts are pre-painted before assembly to keep corrosion from forming and protect your investment.
Giesemann uses high-quality ballasts as they do understand for a slight bit more in ballast cost, the light output is much greater than the standard ballasts the industry uses.

Beautiful awesome light over 72" reef tank in living room By Richard on 4/20/2016Richard would recommend this product to a friendWith this 60" light hanging above my 72" tank everybody is happy. Corals, fish, and the wife. Information was a little scarce. Small transformer powers 24V DC cooling fans that do a great job. One cord powers up two outside lights. One cord powers up two inside lights. One cord powers up the remaining four lights.
Let BRS help pick your bulbs and your tank will look amazing.Old school is hard to beat. Switched from leds to this and couldn"t be happier.
Will this fixture work for a 72" tank?
This can work great over a 72" tank! Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Will this model work with the tank mount or is it too large? What is the estimated weight of the fixture?
The Mounting legs would work great with the 60" fixture as the legs sit firm enough to not allow bowing. Keep in mind that the legs will hold the fixture around 3" above the rim of the tank. The total weight of the fixture is around 40 lbs. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Using the hanging kit what height above the 72 x 24 x 24 tank would you recommend, The tank has some glass on top but mostly your BRS mesh. I see the leg brackets position the fixture at 3" above. A range above that BRS or Giesemann recommends would be great. Thanks
With most of our T5 fixtures we have mounted them close enough to prevent light spillage and high enough to work under. Typically this will fall in a hanging range around 6-9 inches. These are very easy to raise and lower with the lock fittings on the hanging wire. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Will this be overkill for a 72-24-24 because i don't wanna pay 1,000 and was hoping i could go with the smaller fixture
The 60" fixture will have around 6" spill over on either side and can work great with a 72" tank. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Does this unit come with bulbs? If not, and I buy the 8x 80 watt bulb model, what bulb combination/mixture would you recommend for my reef tank? 72X24X24......All types of corals
This will not include the bulbs. Some of the most popular bulbs include the ATI Blue Plus and Aqua Blue special. (Most will use a majority of these bulbs and then fill in occasionally with bulbs like the Actinic for deeper blue or the purple for a more unique coloration. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
