Aquatic Life's T5HO Hybrid Lighting Fixture lets you combine your favorite LED light module between two banks of T5 lights. The T5 lights are powered by HEP Ballasts for fast firing and excellent color rendition. Each T5 lamp has their own reflector and is held in by traditional bulb clips that have a plastic coating to protect your bulb. Aquatic Life has even gone above and beyond by including silicone end caps that make changing bulbs super fast and easy.
When you combine LED and T5 lighting you can have the best of both worlds. T5 lighting has a proven track record with their full spectrum bulbs and edge to edge coverage, and almost anyone can have success with the right fluorescent lamps. Being in the 21st century everything we own must have some type of control, and that is where T5 fails, but LED shines. LED lights are known for their ability to ramp up and down giving dusk to dawn effects while being able to change colors and spectrums throughout the day as well. LED lights provide great shimmer, and when paired with T5 lights almost creates a realistic look that you would actually find in a shallow reef.
Pair the Aquatic Life Hybrid fixture with some of the most popular LEDs like Kessil, Ecotech, or Aqua Illumination for a successful combination of T5 and LED lighting. Each hybrid fixture includes two different mounts that can accept some of the larger lights like the Kessil A360 and Aqua Illumination Hydra FiftyTwo HD, but also some of the smaller modules like the AI Prime HD and Ecotech XR15w lights.
Important Note - While supplies last, fixtures will include four round mounting brackets for the Kessil A360. In the future, these will be available for separate purchase.

Tuning Your New LED Light
Most LED lights will actually put out more light than your corals will actually need and without a PAR Meter to test the overall output, it is really hard to guess if the light is too dim or intense. We highly suggest using a PAR Meter to test the output of your lights at different points throughout your tank that you can use to tune the lights output or know where to put specific corals.
Worth the investment By Ken on 12/11/2019Ken would recommend this product to a friendI been reefing only a 1 1/2 years now and lighting has been my issues. Getting lost in leds but not wanting to pay the money for the right ones. These not only get the job done but they will still be there when I’m ready to add leds in the future. With a 6’ tank it’s the way to go on a budget
Not a bad piece of equipment By Dillon on 7/17/2019Dillon would recommend this product to a friendFirst impression, as everyone else says....power cords on both sides? Wtf? Easy enough fix if you don’t mind taking things apart. The housings are extruded and modular. So you can remove the end caps, remove the reflector, remove the ballast and flip it so the cords are on the same side. There are two issues in doing this. The end cap has a very slight bend at the top to mesh with the top of the fixture. When you flip the end cap the bend will be at the bottom. No biggie, and no one will notice. You will also have to cut out a slot for the cord on the end plate. I recommend getting the option end caps that hide the power cables. You can run both cables if you want to control each bank separately, or you can splice them together inside the fixture and run a single power cord to keep it a bit cleaner. Other than that, my only regret is that I should have held out for the dimmable version. For some reason it’s not available on the 6’ lamp yet.
Glad I added T5's to my lighting By Mark on 11/8/2018Mark would recommend this product to a friendReally pleased with the build, instructions and look of this fixture. I was also frustrated that the cords come out at opposite ends, but I understand how there is no left or right fixture. I do wish they had included an extension cord to compensate for the fixture which will have it power cord on the opposite end of the fixture. Both cords are 6 foot long, but when the left cord is bundled to the right cord ( or visa versa), only one foot of cord is left on the 61 long fixture.
It fits my needs... By Timothy on 9/2/2018Timothy would recommend this product to a friendI have a 180 gallon pennisula tank. Open on 3 sides. I purchased the 61" version. Fits EXACTLY in the space I had. Just enough clearance on each side to fit in the enclosed top.
Light source is great! I get excellent coverage in my tank. I haven't had it long, so don't know about longevity. But its working! Power cords on opposite sides not an issue for me.
Cons: 1 star removed for the following. Hangers work, but are not as easy to adjust as I would like. Hard to get it even and up high enough over the water. 2. No covers over lamps. Will have to watch for salt creep more than usual. 3. Cut outs for hangers were not exact. Meaning I struggled to get a couple in.
Good light but needs better design By Keith on 4/15/2018Keith would recommend this product to a friendSo, I bought this light to add to my Radion G4 Pros to have a hybrid light.
Overall, it is a good light but needs a better design. For example, each side of this light has it's own plug which is great. However, when put together you now have a plug on each end of the light fixture. Would be much cleaner and aesthetically pleasing if when the light was put together the plugs both came out on the same side.
Also, what T5 light doesn't ship with light shields??? I know there are some reefers out there that prefer to not have the light shields, but would at least like the option. I dont expect this light to last too long before I will need to replace the reflectors due to salt spray.
Good light. By CJS80 on 4/7/2018CJS80 would recommend this product to a friendPros: A good light to add par and eliminate shadowing you can get from LEDs.
Cons: Has 2 cords which come out from opposite sides. Not a big enough deal for me to warrant losing a star, but doesn't look as clean as a single cord, or both on the same side would look.
I am considering adding one of these to my 3 Radion XR30s over my Red Sea Reefer 450. Should I go with the 60" which is a couple inches longer than the tank or the 48". Tank is 59" long. Plan to go SPS crazy, but realize that the T5 + 3 Radion may be a little overkill.
Two questions. First, is this big enough for a 73×24×30 aquarium? If so could I keep some lps and softies until I can get the leds?
Thank you for reaching out to us. You can keep LPS and softies under that fixture without the LEDs, however, with your size aquarium, you will get pretty dark shadowing at the edges of the tank. We would recommend looking into 2x 36” fixtures.
Have a great day and take care!
