Great Output, Good Fixture By Jamespias on 11/11/2019Jamespias would recommend this product to a friendGot this for a 120g 4x2x2. I bought the 8 bulb to get away from LEDs from my last tank as I didn't like the white undersides to the shadowed areas on my acros. I did add a reef bright strip for actinic, but overall this fixture has worked great for the last two years and is still going strong. I've had the buzzing issue that others have mentioned (and it started almost immediately when the fixture was brand new), but I've been able to pinpoint it to either bad bulb or running the fixture too hot. In both cases, I was able to get the noise to disappear by replacing the buzzing bulb, or turning the adjustable fan up a notch.
I think this fixture does what it is supposed to do and no more. There aren't any fancy bells or whistles, but I'm getting between 200-450 PAR on this tank from sanded to 18/20" below water line where rocks end. Fixture is mounted 9" above water line.
-Seems reliable (running mine for two years)
-Sleek looking design
-Puts out plenty of power to grow acros
-Easy to maintain
-Only two channels of control (but I'm spoiled from running LEDs previously)
-Lots of power cords to deal with
-Can have annoying buzzing sound, but fixable with a little work/common sense
I almost have a brand new fixture By John on 8/20/2018John wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThe fixture came in with a broken ballast and a broken fan power supply. 6 months later another ballast ended up failing. Customer service was okay. I called multiple times when the fixture came in broken and no response. They responded to my email and replaced everything free of charge. Overall poor experience from an apparently good company.
ATI worst customer service By Jack hill on 6/24/2018Jack hill wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI spoke with the sales manager from ATI. He was horrible, and blamed me for the problems with the product. I would stay away from ati from this point onward. Really poor service. Wow. I can’t believe they can get away with that now a days.
Powerful and nice looking fixture By Ferrell on 3/25/2018Ferrell would recommend this product to a friendLove everything about this fixture.
Buzzing noise By Ted on 12/20/2017Ted wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThe fixture has an electrical buzzing noise that's driving me crazy. If it was just a slight buzz I could look past it, but it's loud enough to hear it from a different room of the house. I called ATI and their suggestion was to "Let it run for a while and eventually the buzz will dissappear".
BRS was kind enough to send me a replacement fixture. Unfortunately, the replacement fixture also has a buzz noise. For the record, the bulbs are brand new ATI bulbs. Not happy with ATI's customer service on this one. I feel bad not recommending this product because everything else about the light is great.
TRIED AND TRUE By michael on 12/15/2016michael would recommend this product to a friendnothing is better than a proven light. this light will grow anything I want and the color is amazing. blue plus and coral plus is a great combo
If your buying a T-5 light fixture this is the one By Bob on 5/26/2016Bob would recommend this product to a friendI have been doing salt tanks for over 35 years I have used multiple brands of light , even wasted money on ebay on the china made led lights. save your money till you can buy the ATI fixture every component is high quality puts the light in the tank and not out all sides . Best fixture I have bought in 35 years my 1st ATI and will be the only brand I will buy going forward. All the corals have better color and growth
not worth it By James on 12/30/2015James wouldn't recommend this product to a friendGet another light fixture, like the Giesemann Matrix or Aurora. Have been having issues with the light from day 1. ATI customer support is slow and not helping much.
Amazing ATI By a grandis on 11/30/2015a grandis would recommend this product to a friendI have a Power Module, not the SunPower, but I believe they are basically the same. The Power Module is heavier and more heavy duty, I guess.
My PM is working for 8+ years and never had anything wrong with it.
Make sure you put the fan mid high to high. Specially if you don't have air conditioner.
Clean the lens (acrylic) to make sure light is used at its best.
I've used 8 bulb and 6 bulb fixtures. 2 Power Module and a dimmable. All great!!
Great By chris on 10/22/2015chris would recommend this product to a friendI have the 48'' 6 bulb and its a very nice fixture very bright and silent will be upgrading soon to the dimmable version soon .
Awesome fixture By Cristian on 5/19/2015Cristian would recommend this product to a friendI am using a 6bulb 54w over a standard 120 gal tank 4*2*2 sps tank and so far I haven't had any issues growing SPS (however my sps are quite young)
I am thinking to upgrade to a 8bulb 54w hybrid, however the price difference is huge, just really miss the shimmer I was getting from Haladies or LED (used Radions) and the pop from the blue LED...
Great! By Stephano on 7/19/2014Stephano would recommend this product to a friendLight is super bright. Also the aesthetic of this light is really clean/modern. Make sure to come up with a right bulb combo. Some corals will need slow acclimation
Ok Ive been debating which of these ATIs to purchase 48" 4 bulb or 6 bulb? My tank is 48"L x 18"W x 21"H. My intentions are to start off with softies and LPS but possibly add SPS after some time and tank seasoning. Will a four bulb provide the needed PAR for SPS as long as they are in the higher elevations of the tank? Im pretty certain that it will be sufficient for LPS. Secondly and this is where the train goes off the track, would the 6 bulb, even though its 13" wide on an 18" wide tank, give better coverage and also allow more flexibility of bulb choice. Tell me I'm just overthinking this whole thing, haha. Im about a month away from needing the fixture.
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to selecting a fixture for you LPS/SPS tank. For this tank you could go with the four bulb and be just fine with strategic placement of the SPS corals. The biggest advantage of the six bulb version on your tank would be allowing for higher light demand SPS corals to be placed near the bottom of the tank. As far as bulbs I personally like to run a 50 50 of the coral plus and blue plus bulbs by ATI. For my bulb choice the six bulb would not give me any more variation. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!
