Bulk Reef Supply RO/DI systems only use the latest filters and components in Reverse Osmosis technology. We have designed our RO/DI units especially for reef tanks, but they can produce perfect water for other types of saltwater and freshwater aquariums too. If you have a well, or you are connected to city water we offer a variety of RO/DI systems that will fit your aquarium's needs.

4 Stage RO/DI Systems - Perfect for city water that is treated with low amounts of chlorine, or well water with very minimal contaminants. Four stage RODI systems are a great solution if you only connect your RODI system temporarily or have little space to dedicate to storing a RODI system.
5 Stage RO/DI Systems - Our most popular systems handle common impurities found in well water along with most types of city water treated with chlorine including small amounts of chloramines.
6 Stage RO/DI Systems - If you are not sure what is in your water, or it contains excessive amounts of TDS or hard to remove contaminants like chloramines, phosphates, nitrates, silicates, etc. The BRS 6 Stage systems are designed to effectively treat any water your home may have prior to using it in your aquarium. The Dual DI stage helps with the hard to remove ions like ammonia, phosphates, silicates, etc.

4 Stages of Filtration

Stage 1

Purtrex 5 Micron Depth Sediment Filter NSF Certified

Sediment filters trap debris and other free-floating particles that would normally clog expensive carbon blocks and foul membranes. Purtrex filters are a true depth filter with a graded density that progressively gets tighter through as water passes through the filter allowing them to last longer than the competitors.

Stage 2

BRS 5 Micron VOC Block NSF Certified (Chlorine 15,000 @ 1 GPM)

Our VOC carbon blocks are specially formulated to remove and reduce chlorine and volatile organic compounds from household water.

Stage 3

Dual 100 GPD Dow Filmtec Membrane NSF Certified (up to 98% rejection rate*)

1.5:1 Waste To Product Water Ratio

DOW is hands down the industry leader for residential RO membranes and when using two membranes, the output can be doubled without the need for any additional waste water over a single membrane. The 100 GPD Filmtec membrane can remove up to 98% of contaminants from traditional household drinking water. All membranes do require pressure to operate correctly, and DOW membranes in a water saver configuration require 65 PSI of feed pressure to operate efficiently.

Stage 4

Nuclear Grade Color-Changing Deionization Resin

Deionization resin is the final stage of the RODI system and will polish your water down to 0 TDS. The DI resin is a mixed bed with a color changing indicator to let you know when it is becoming depleted. The resin starts as a dark blue color that will turn gold when as it becomes exhausted and is a good indicator to let you know when to it should be replaced.

4 Stage Value 200 GPD RO/DI System Recommended Conditions:

  • Minimum Water Pressure - 65 PSI
  • Max Water Pressure - 90 PSI
  • Recommended Water Temperature - 77°F
  • Recommended Max TDS - <500ppm
  • Waste to Product Water Ratio - 1.5:1

Water pressure can be increased by adding a booster pump before your RO/DI system. Low pressure may cause the RODI system to produce excessive waste water. Pressure over 90 PSI may cause damage to the RO/DI units filters and components.

*DOW Filmtec 100 GPD Membranes have a 96% - 98% typical stabilized salt rejection rate that can be reproduced through the following conditions;

  • Source Water Pressure - 50 PSI / Membrane (65 PSI for Water Saver systems)
  • Source Water Temperature - 77°F
  • Source Water TDS - 500ppm Softened Tap Water
  • Recovery - 15%
  • Minimum Salt Rejection - 96%

Product Questions

Does the BRS 4-Stage Value Plus RO/DI system get rid of chloramine?

What is ratio of filtered water to total amount used?

Can you use discharged water for irrigation of lawns or food plots?

Question by: jim reynolds on Jan 9, 2025, 8:59 PM
The RO membrane in the system will remove chloramine. The ratio is 4:1 waste to product water and you can use the wastewater to water the lawn or plants. The wastewater can be cut in half with a water saver system or water saver upgrade kit.
Answer by: Grace (BRS Staff) on Jan 10, 2025, 3:33 PM
I just received and hooked up the BRS 4-stage Value Plus system and my pressure gauge shows my water pressure as 43-44 PSI, which is below the recommended 50 PSI minimum. Will I need a pressure boost or will it not have that much effect on performance if I leave it at my current water source's pressure?
Question by: Elizabeth Blackwell on Nov 23, 2022, 4:26 PM
Thanks for reaching out! The booster will definitely help with rejection rating in the membrane so I might suggest getting it. That said the unit will still function but could see adverse results in faster resin exhaustion at lower pressures

TDS meter battery replacement? What size and how?
Question by: Brad Antone on Jul 16, 2022, 6:49 AM
Thanks for the questions! The TDS Meter uses model 357A batteries. Instructions for changing the batteries are below.

1. Unscrew the three metal screws (not the orange plastic screw) on the rear of the unit and remove
the back panel.
2. Remove the batteries.
3. Replace both batteries with two fresh batteries (model 357A). Ensure the polarity is correct.
4. Close the back panel and replace the screws. You will not need to recalibrate.

Can you drink the water produced by your RO/DI Filters...thanks!
Question by: Richard Hasty on Sep 29, 2019, 2:02 PM
Hey there-

Great question! The water from the full RO/DI units is drinkable, but unhealthy for you as the ultra-pure water strips minerals from the cells in your body. If you would like to use the RODI for drinking water I would recommend 1 of 2 things:
1) Divert the product line of your RODI unit before the DI resin for RO-only drinking water.
or
2) Add a separate re-mineralizer cartridge after your RODI for your drinking water to re-introduce minerals into the water (of course you would want to avoid using this water for your reef tank though as this would no longer be 0 TDS water).

Take care!

Is the waste line on the 75 gpd 4 stage 1/4 or 3/8 ? I want to place order and want to order the proper waste saddle clamp .. thank you !!
Question by: Charlie Clark on Feb 11, 2019, 3:19 PM
Thanks for contacting BRS!
The waste line on the 4-stage 75gpd system is 1/4". Have a great day!
Answer by: Noah on Feb 14, 2019, 1:33 PM
Does the 100 gpd value plus model come with an automatic shut off valve? can you confirm those are check valve 90 elbows on the membrane housing?
Question by: Bobby Shelton on Jan 7, 2019, 12:44 PM
Thanks for contacting BRS!
This system will come with an auto shut off valve as well as check valve elbows so all you will need is a float valve to have the system fill a container and shut off the system when it is full. Have a great day!
