The Vertex Vectra Engine Universal Cleaner Unit is the component of the Vectra system that includes the motor, shaft, and squeegee. The Engine can be used when modifying an existing skimmer lid, or as a replacement for a current Vectra Cleaning system.

Protein Skimmers will perform better when the neck is clean. Neck Cleaners are gaining more and more popularity as reefers use them and notice their effectiveness (not to mention removing a disgusting chore). The Vertex Engine can be added to most skimmer cups by creating a couple small holes to allow the shaft and screws through the lid. The neck cleaner motor can be mounted on virtually any skimmer cup lid and will only require 4" of needed clearance and with some smaller skimmers, the squeegee may need to be modified to fit within the neck of the skimmer.

Controlling the Vectra Engine is super easy by plugging in the power supply to a basic On/Off timer or any aquarium controller. We suggest activating the engine for a couple minutes at a time, up to 4 times a day.
