The features of the Skimz Sumpro series have been designed with the advanced reefer in mind, many of which you will normally only find on expensive, high end sumps. All Skimz sumps include integrated probe holders, filter socks, tube holders and an adjustable skimmer chamber. With a super clear front acrylic window allowing you see your equipment without any distortion and all other sides are white to keep things bright and super sharp looking.
DuoFlo Sock Chamber
With the importance of crystal clear water every Skimz sump comes with a DuoFlo tiered filter sock system. The system incorporates two filter socks of different lengths in a series allowing for fewer changes of both filter socks, and the ability to install a progressive micron system of filter socks.
Allows quick and steady adjustments of the water height in the skimmer chamber by controlling an adjustable baffle. There are no thumb screws to mess around with like many of the competitors and your hands will stay dry when adjusting the baffle allowing your choice of skimmer to perform at its prime level.
Each Skimz Sumpro Sump comes with 4 integrated probe holders that will accompany any type of probe up to ½” diameter.
Dosing tubes can always be a source of clutter and headache to keep looking clean and not a tangled mess. Every Skimz Sumpro sump comes with 4 dosing tubes letting you dose anything you want from trace element solutions, calcium reactor effluent, nitrate reactors, or anything else that uses standard 3/16” tubing.

Excellent build quality By John F on 4/19/2019John F would recommend this product to a friendThe UP21 is an excellent sump at a very reasonable price. As mentioned by other reviewers, there may be issues. I found the 1" inlet pipe too small as well. I resolved this by cutting off the 1" pipe, used a hole saw to cutout the previous inlet to position a 1.25" inside pipe and connector. If you are needing a felt sock, I have found that the Vertex 200 MICRON FELT FILTER SOCK WITH PLASTIC RING 4" X 12" at $7.99, SKU: 210356 sold at BRS works fine in the UP21 sump. Skimz uses a 4" sock with a roughly 3.5" collar (other commercial 4" socks uses est 3.7" collar). Vertex brands uses the 3.5" collar. Skimz has precise tolerance to ensure water enters the sock and and not around the collar. This is a great sump if a little creativity is used to make adjustments.
Review update By Jim on 5/31/2018Jim wouldn't recommend this product to a friendWith a little more experience in this sump, I now have to say the proprietary socks would make this a deal breaker. Although Skimz makes felt socks, instead of the provided mesh, you cannot get them in the USA. The mesh socks are easy to clean, but only remove large debris. I had to put floss in the bubble trap to polish the water. So if you dont mind modifying socks its ok. What a shame, build quality is excellent.
UP21 SUMPRO By Jim on 3/27/2018Jim would recommend this product to a friendI was blown away by the quality of this sump. Fresh water reservoir was a nice bonus. Bought an ATO system, and no more manually topping off daily. Nice size skimmer area. You do have to use Skimz socks as far as I can tell. BRS has them, and your LFS should be able to order them. Nice, well made socks that are washable, and not too expensive, so should not be an issue to keep you from getting this awesome sump. Lots of room for bio material. Easy access to all compartments. Quality, quality, quality!! And the price is not completely ridiculous.
Awesome sump By Chris on 2/7/2018Chris would recommend this product to a friendA simple sump that works. This sump has been much better then the diy sump I was using. It has plenty of room for my skimmer, heater, and other equipment. The freshwater top off compartment is awesome. Overall I am happy with this purchase, quite and less splash from drain.
Great sump for the money By BlueZ on 4/27/2017BlueZ would recommend this product to a friendThis sump looks great, quality is very nice especially for the price point. It's easy to adjust your skimmers water level, which is a huge plus if you have a finicky skimmer like I do.
My only complaints are that you have to use the skimz socks. Not ideal but they are nicer quality than the typical felt socks and look like they will last a long time. Secondly, if your like me and have a bean animal overflow or an overflow that requires constant siphon to be silent, the overflow tube needs a hole drilled in it. When I first plumbed it, it wouldn't "burp" out the air by itself as the drain tube goes straight down below the water line. Drilling a few small holes in the grey pipe alleviated this issue.
I would definitely buy another, very happy with these!
Just about perfect. By Chad on 2/17/2017Chad would recommend this product to a friendIs just about perfect. The covers on the return pipe and filter sock section help muffle any noise and keep salt creep down. Also helps a lot with evaporation. I love that it has a built in top off chamber. Just watch as it has an overflow hole so make sure you watch while you fill as it empties into the skimmer section. It is extremely well built and arrives packaged to survive anything but your UPS person will learn to hate you. The adjustable gate works great as does the bubble trap. Return section could use to be a little bigger so make sure you know what is/needs to go into it.
Good sump that missed the mark. By Graham on 1/25/2017Graham would recommend this product to a friendFirst off the shipping and packaging were great. The sump is well built and is larger than I thought. It's nice having the top off Reservoir in the sump. Having a top over the fill compartment has cut down my evaporation. There is also plenty of room for large skimmers. This sump does have some flaws. The sock holders are not standard 4 inch, they are smaller than all of the socks I have. Even the 4 inch BRS mesh sock do not fit. [ I tried]... Then there's the probe holders, they are located in the skimmer section. If your skimmer produces ANY micro bubbles they will fill the bottom of the probes. For TEMP & PH, this might be ok, but I had to move my salinity probe to the return pump section. Over all I am pleased with the sump it just needs some improvements.
The drain pipe that then flows into the filter socks, what pipe diameter is it? Can it be removed for a larger/smaller pipe installation? Is it rigid pipe or flex? And how can I attach it to pic plumbing?
