Not all media reactors are built the same and Lifegards Turbo Media Reactors are perfect for biopellets, but can also be used for carbon and GFO too. The Turbo name comes from the unique spinning action that is made with the flow. The flow keeps biopellets from clumping while providing maximum contact time with the media as the water produces a vortex-like stream. The vortex style stream causes excessive agitation of the bio-pellets and other media. Each reactor comes with diffusion plates and foam pads for use with carbon and GFO.
Lifegard Turbo Reactors can be set up quicker than almost any other reactor on the market. Just put in the proper amount of media for your aquarium and then place it directly into your sump and plug it in! The side flow reactors can be placed almost anywhere in the sump with their space-saving footprint. They are able to save enormous amounts of space by placing the Quiet One Pro pump directly under the reactor body that not only saves space, allows for efficient energy-saving flow.

Piece of Junk By Brent on 3/26/2019Brent wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI have had nothing but problems with this piece of junk since I purchased this from BRS in october of 2017. The top flange leaks like a sieve! I’ve consulted the vendor directly several times to no avail. Don’t recommend this product to anyone in the hobby! Customer service from a manufacturer means ALOT. This manufacturer apparently does not stand behind their products!
no problems By Patrick on 12/11/2018Patrick would recommend this product to a friendI have 2 of the large units and have not experienced the leaks that are described in another review.
Needs some upgrades to design By Brent on 11/20/2017Brent wouldn't recommend this product to a friendUnit would be great if it was not for all the water that leaks out. The top lid and mounting plate that it screws into are not thick enough acrylic. The plates bow when plastic screws are tightened and do not allow enough pressure to seal the oring in between the plates.
