Dual Water Channel Design
Eshopps R-Series sumps feature unique flow through the separate refugium and skimmer chamber. The main advantage is that your skimmer can now uptake undissolved organics while your refugium can absorb nutrients like ammonia, phosphorus, and other unwanted nutrients without having to compete with each other.
The Eshopps R-Series of sumps has a unique flow pattern. Water first drains into the main drain chamber where a portion of the water will flow into the refugium chamber, and skimmer chamber completely separate. The skimmer compartment has a filter sock to help polish the water of any debris or detritus before entering the protein skimmer, where the refugium compartment gets completely unfiltered water. Keeping the flow paths isolated greatly increases the protein skimmers efficiency and also the growth rate of the refugium. Both chambers drain into the return pump chamber where water can be pushed back into the aquarium by your choice of return pump.
Refugium - 12" x 9.5"
Refugiums are great for holding macroalgae and other nutrient reducing organisms. Just add a refugium light to the R-300 for an efficient source of filtration. Lights like the Kessil H380 is a perfect choice.
Skimmer Chamber - 15.5" x 15.5"
Simply choose any skimmer that has a footprint less than 15.5" x 15.5" and you are in business. The large area lets you choose the best skimmer for your system's needs without having to compromise.

Great Sump By Gene on 11/8/2019Gene would recommend this product to a friendOverall I’m happy with the quality and skimmer space is a plus for this Sump. Currently not running a fuge. Just places some media pure bio balls and live rock in the fuge section.
Sump/Refugium Is The best By charles on 3/30/2018charles would recommend this product to a friendRunning a Reef Tank for Six Years. Wanted to make some changes for less maintenance. After lots of research I set my Eyes on The ESOPPS R-300. When it arrived it was like Christmas So Happy. One modification so I could run a External Pump. After Fully installed the Sump Has far surpassed all of my expectations. Very Happy Best Sump ever.
Know What You're Buying By Matthew on 1/16/2018Matthew would recommend this product to a friendI've had mine for about 4 months. I shopped around for several weeks before I settled on this sump. Yes the return chamber is small, but there are a bunch of pumps that fit in it with room to sparensure, my DCT 6000 fits easily. The skimmer chamber has plenty of room for my equipment. The design does make certain things complicated, I would like to be able to remove the bulkhead plate and clean that compartment. The refugium is a good size and seems to get plenty of flow. In this price point you are going to struggle to find something better.
Not a great sump By geoff on 1/9/2018geoff wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI've had this sump for 6 months now and i'm still not a fan. The design is a bit of an overkill. The overflows are 1" and you can't change it. the tubes are glued to the bulkheads and empty into an inaccessible compartment. If a small fish makes it down your drain, good luck getting it out. The way water flows under the refugium area makes a difficult area to access and clean. The skimmer chamber is a tight fit. i had to get creative to house my 2 titanium heaters with an Eshopps skimmer. The WORST aspect of this skimmer is the return chamber. They incorporate a float valve for an ATO line. You really can't adjust the level of the valve. The float valve appears to be cheaply manufactured (i would never trust it for an ATO) and the way the float is mounted takes up valuable space that could have been saved for a return pump. The walls of the sump seem really the and weak, but i haven't had a problem with it, yet. I gave it 2 stars because it does serve it's basic purpose as a sump. I wish i would have gone in a different direction.
