Skimz QuietPro Pumps are full feature pumps that use a brushless 6-pole synchronous motor allowing you to have full control over the flow of the pump from 100% down to 5% while remaining completely silent. The included controller has a LED display that will show you the speed mode you are on, and also the wattage being consumed.
Skimz gives you control of the pump from 5%-100% through the DC pump controller making it the perfect pump for aquarium equipment ranging from small reactors, closed loop systems and even dedicated return pumps.
Each Skimz QuietPro Pump has a slow start feature that gently ramps the pumps flow up to the desired setting over the course of a few seconds.
The pump will automatically shut off when the temperature either gets too hot, or too cold removing the possibility of the pump damaging itself.
Enter or exit feed mode with a single push of a button on the controller. QuietPro pumps have a 10-minute feed mode and will revert to the same power settings that were being used before feed mode was engaged.

Build quality isn't great, but performance is good By Arthur on 8/22/2017Arthur wouldn't recommend this product to a friendFirst impression:
- The packaging looked nice
- The pump itself looks cheap
- Dirty smear marks and adhesive remnants all over it, looks like it sat in a dusty warehouse and handled with sweaty hands before packaged
- The protective cage around the inlet doesn't sit flush with the pump and is slightly offset, pretty terrible build quality. Almost as bad as strawberry baskets
- Dead silent, didn't know it was on when I first plugged it in.
- Only way to show the flow setting is to press the buttons, otherwise it defaults to wattage
- Ran it for 10 minutes, no problems
I haven't run it on a tank yet, so still not sure if it will hold up. I wouldn't buy this pump again for this size / GPH. The price point is nice, but I've seen other pumps that at least look much better with higher quality looking build quality.
If I had a choice, I would have held off for the Vectra S1 or maybe something like the AquaMaxx Magnus DC pump instead. I might still order the Vectra S1 when it becomes available and use this Skimz pump as a backup.
Very Quiet By Luis on 6/26/2017Luis would recommend this product to a friendI'm very impressed so far with this product. Noise is a large concern for me with the tank I have this on, and this pump is dead silent. Soft start up is a very nice feature, along with the low energy consumption, 14-17w on 50% power. The screen on the controller also displays wattage being used at all times.

This pump is really only meant to be run submersed. While the pump could technically be run externally, the pump body threads are not US NPT, but rather are BSPP and would not be compatible with typical us pvc fittings and plumbing. The supplied barb adapters are really the best way to connect to this pump.
