- Neoprene Foam
High quality Neoprene Foam is perfect for placing under rimless tanks. Rimless tanks rest directly on the top of the stand, which may be a rougher surface than glass or acrylic can handle in most cases. By placing a single sheet of Neoprene Foam in-between the tanks glass/acrylic and stand, that will dampen any pressure points to make a level and even surface for the tank to rest on.
- 1/8 inch thick
- Closed Cell Neoprene Foam
- Easily cuts with razor blade for a professional looking edge
Note: Full sheet (80" x 48") and half sheet (80" x 24") come as a single piece that may have some rough edges from the manufacturing process. It is recommended to purchase a piece slightly larger than needed and trim to an exact fit once the tank is resting on the stand.
Neoprene is a must have for all rimless and even some trimmed tanks. Most manufacturers will demand that their tanks sit on a sheet of neoprene to dampen any pressure points the stands surface may have.
- Install stand in final location
- Place oversized piece of neoprene on surface of stand
- Place tank on top of stand and neoprene (try not to slide the tank on top of the neoprene as it may wrinkle. It is recommended to remove all wrinkles from the neoprene as that can create a pressure point)
- Once the tank is centered, using a new razor blade, trim the edges of the neoprene flush with the tanks base
This mat is the sheet!! By Pat Fenis on 12/16/2017Pat Fenis would recommend this product to a friendGo ahead and buy the full sheet, thats what i did and glad i did it! Used this stuff for a bottom mat inside my cabinet! Had enough left over and just rolled it up thinking i would use it later on, i added a QT tank and used the rest under the tank!!
This pad is the sheet!! By Willie on 5/31/2017Willie would recommend this product to a friendI used the full sheet to line the cabinet bottom before installing the sump! Love this stuff!!
So many uses! By James on 5/29/2017James would recommend this product to a friendI got this to put under the display tank. It is difficult to cut without ripping or tearing but it makes up for that with all the uses I have found for it. I have some under the return pump to minimize vibration, glued to a piece of firm plumbing that runs to the carbon filter to neutralize it's sound, in my overflow to prevent splash zones, and between the glass and the return jet. I wouldn't be nearly as satisfied with my tank If I did not have this!
great product By jake on 1/2/2017jake would recommend this product to a friendused it for a regular tank to help level the tank out. checked the tank a few weeks later and tank is perfectly level. will buy it again for all future tanks
Great for helping level a tank By Kelson on 6/24/2016Kelson would recommend this product to a friendBesides using styrofoam this is the best product to use. Easy to cut and install. Would recommend to anyone setting up a tank
Just what I needed By Brian on 4/5/2016Brian would recommend this product to a friendThis stuff is quite nice. I got the half sheet as I have a standard 48"x24" stand. I had no issues with quantity, there was plenty to put down a layer across the entire bottom, and a decent amount left over for other uses I might find. I will say that the color shown in the picture is not quite accurate, at least for the piece I got. The piece I got was black, which I was happy with as it's in a black stand so it doesn't stick out or anything like that.
Quality I thought was nice, better than I expected to be honest. For me... $33 worth of protection for a $900 sump is a worth while investment in piece of mind to make sure that I have a good flat surface to put my sump on.
I tried to cut it with a brand new razor blade... but that didn't work so well. Was too hard to try and hold it in the stand in place and cut at the same time.. just not enough room. I ended up using a pair of scissors and that worked well.
Made life easier By Jessica on 1/4/2016Jessica would recommend this product to a friendI ordered a half sheet because it had the width I was looking for that was not easily found elsewhere. I am using it beneath an acrylic sump and ATO box.
Can I just use a sheet or plywood under my rimless for more support or would u recommend foem ?
