Component 1+2+3+ Concentrate is a convenient solution for marine aquarists, based on the proven Balling method. This product allows for easy preparation of three essential solutions (Component 1+, 2+, and 3+) necessary for maintaining proper chemical balance in a reef aquarium. Thanks to its concentrated formula, it enables storage in smaller containers, saving you space.

Each 1-liter concentrate bottle allows for the preparation of 5 liters of solution.

What makes Component 1+2+3+ Concentrate unique?

  • Compact form: Helps save space in your aquarium room and is easy to transport.
  • Ease of preparation: Easily dissolves in reverse osmosis water, producing 5 liters of Component 1+, 2+, or 3+ solution.
  • Ideal balance of micro and macro elements: Provides all the essential micro and macro elements that corals need for healthy growth and vibrant colors.

Preparation:

Note: This product may be dosed without prior dilution; however, it is five times more concentrated than standard Component 1+2+3+. If dosing undiluted, use a dosing pump to divide the total daily amount into multiple small doses spread throughout the day to prevent sudden water chemistry changes.

To Prepare 5 liters of Component 1+

  1. Shake thoroughly and pour Concentrate 1+ into a clean 5-liter container marked for 5 liters.
  2. Refill the empty concentrate bottle with reverse osmosis water up to 1/3 of its volume, close the cap, and mix well.
  3. Pour into the 5-liter container.
  4. If there is any concentrate left in the bottle, repeat steps 2 and 3.
  5. Top up the 5-liter container with reverse osmosis water to the 5-liter mark and mix thoroughly to achieve a uniform solution.

To Prepare 5 liters of Component 2+

  1. Shake thoroughly and pour Concentrate 2+ into a clean 5-liter container marked for 5 liters.
  2. Refill the empty concentrate bottle with warm reverse osmosis water (ideal temperature: 40°C/104°F), up to 1/3 of its volume, close the cap, and mix well.
  3. Pour into the 5-liter container.
  4. If any concentrate or salt crystals remain in the bottle, repeat steps 2 and 3.
  5. Top up the 5-liter container with warm reverse osmosis water to the 5-liter mark. Mix thoroughly until any remaining salt crystals dissolve, and the solution is uniform. Allow it to cool for about an hour.
  6. Sediment or crystallization may occur due to the high concentration of substances in the product; this is normal and does not affect the product’s quality.

To Prepare 5 liters of Component 3+

  1. Shake thoroughly and pour Concentrate 3+ into a clean 5-liter container marked for 5 liters.
  2. Refill the empty concentrate bottle with reverse osmosis water up to 1/3 of its volume, close the cap, and mix well.
  3. Pour into the 5-liter container.
  4. If any concentrate remains in the bottle, repeat steps 2 and 3.
  5. Top up the 5-liter container with reverse osmosis water to the 5-liter mark and mix thoroughly to achieve a uniform solution.

Dosage:

Aquaforest recommends dosing all solutions in equal amounts, which should be determined and adjusted based on coral consumption. It is advisable to test the water’s key parameters: calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity. If consumption of any component is higher, it is recommended to use an additional solution (Calcium, Magnesium, or KH Buffer). To supplement deficiencies, you can also consider: KH Plus, Ca Plus, Mg Plus) and dosing it separately until the parameters are balanced.

For a tank moderately populated with hard corals, the dosage is approximately 25 ml daily per 100 liters of water. To maintain stable parameters, divide the daily dose into as many smaller doses as possible.

Note: This product may be dosed without prior dilution; however, it is five times more concentrated than standard Component 1+2+3+. If dosing undiluted, use a dosing pump to divide the total daily amount into multiple small doses spread throughout the day to prevent sudden water chemistry changes.

When added to 100 liters (26 gallons) of water, 5 mL of each component increases:

  • Component 1+ Concentrate: Calcium by 4.5 ppm
  • Component 2+ Concentrate: Alkalinity by 0.65 dKH
  • Component 3+ Concentrate: Magnesium by 0.38 ppm

When the product is used without dilution, Component 2+ may produce a white, gelatinous residue after contact with water. This is completely natural and safe for aquatic organisms. To make it easier to dissolve, the outlet of the Component 2+ dosing pump should be placed in an area with high water flow.

Component 1+2+3+ Concentrate is intended for aquariums only. It is not suitable for consumption. Keep it out of the reach of children. Due to the high concentration of the product, we recommend regular maintenance of the dispensing lines.
