Building a Better Aquascape
Aquaforest makes it easy to take your reef from a box of rock to a finished aquascape you'll be proud of. Start with porous AF Rock, secure your structure with reef-safe glues and adhesives, then finish the look with AF Bio Sand.
Step 1
Start with AF Rock
AF Rock gives you a lightweight, highly porous foundation for building a reef aquascape. Each piece is handmade, giving the rock a varied, natural appearance while providing plenty of surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize.

Step 2
Bond It Together
Once you've found the layout you like, secure the individual pieces to create a stronger, more cohesive rock structure. Aquaforest offers several options depending on the type of bond you need.
- AFix Glue: Great for making smaller initial bonds
- AF Poly Glue: Moldable adhesive for rock and coral placement
- StoneFix: Aquascaping cement for larger structural joints and filling gaps
Step 3
Finish with AF Bio Sand
AF Bio Sand adds a bright, natural-looking substrate around your completed rockwork. Choose from two grain sizes to match the look and flow conditions of your reef.
- Available in 0.5-1.5 mm and 1-2 mm grain sizes
- Natural white appearance
- Includes nitrifying bacteria
- Includes a nutrient source to support bacterial development
