Precisely Raise Nitrate in Low-Nutrient Reef Aquariums
- Concentrated Nitrate Supplement for Reef Aquariums
- Ideal for Systems with Heavy Filtration or Low Fish Stocking
- Helps Restore Nitrate When Nutrient Levels Become Too Low
- Supports Proper Coral Growth
AF Lab NO3+ is a concentrated nitrate supplement designed to raise nitrate levels in reef aquariums. Efficient filtration or excessive use of nutrient-reducing media can sometimes lower nitrate to undesirable levels, particularly in aquariums with a large coral population and relatively few fish.
Nitrate is an important nutrient for coral growth, and levels that remain too low can slow growth or negatively affect coral health. AF Lab NO3+ provides a source of nitrates that allows NO3 levels to be gradually and precisely adjusted. Because nitrate and phosphate levels are closely related, Aquaforest recommends checking both NO3 and PO4 before making adjustments.
Recommended Dosage
Concentration:
1 mL of AF Lab NO3+ increases the nitrate (NO3) concentration by 1 mg/L (ppm) in 100 L (27 US gal) of aquarium water.
Recommended Nitrate Level:
1–4 mg/L (ppm)
Dosing Guidance:
Only use AF Lab NO3+ when nitrate levels are too low. Test NO3 and PO4 before dosing and gradually adjust the dosage until the desired nitrate level is reached. Check nitrate levels frequently and use a reliable test kit.
Maximum Recommended Daily Dose:
Do not exceed 1 mL per 100 L (27 US gal) of aquarium water per day.
Every aquarium is different, and the appropriate dosage will depend on nutrient consumption, filtration, livestock, and the individual needs of the system. Adjust dosing based on regular water testing and avoid increasing nitrate more quickly than necessary.
