AF Lab Borium is a highly concentrated boron supplement for reef aquariums. Boron is a naturally occurring trace element in seawater and plays a role in calcium metabolism, coral skeletal development, and the growth of coralline algae.

Maintaining appropriate boron levels can also help support coral coloration. Aquaforest notes that boron can increase the production of red phytopigments, contributing to more intense yellow, orange, and red coloration in zooxanthellate corals. AF Lab Borium allows boron levels to be replenished based on the consumption and individual needs of the aquarium.

Recommended Dosage

Concentration:
20 mL of AF Lab Borium increases the boron concentration by 1 mg/L (ppm) in 100 L (27 US gal) of aquarium water.

Recommended Boron Level:
4.05–5.00 mg/L (ppm)

Dosing Guidance:
Dose according to the boron consumption of your aquarium and regular water testing.

Maximum Safe Daily Dose:
Do not exceed 20 mL per 100 L (27 US gal) of aquarium water per day. If a larger adjustment is required, divide the total dose over several days.

Every aquarium is different, and the appropriate dosage will depend on coral stocking and the individual needs of the system. Both deficient and excessive micronutrient levels can negatively affect aquarium inhabitants. Adjust dosing based on regular water testing.

Important Note: These dosing instructions apply to the current AF Lab Borium formula. Older versions of this product may have different concentration and dosing recommendations. Always follow the instructions provided with your specific bottle.
