300 micron filter socks are great for high bio-load systems that may be fed a lot. The mesh material allows them to last longer than smaller micron rated socks while still trapping large particles producing clear water. The higher micron rating makes them a great substitute for extended vacations since they do not need to be changed nearly as often.
