T5 Lighting has been a proven method of lighting a reef tank that works. For a simple light fixture that is easy to install with either the mounting legs or hanging kit the Matrixx II T5 fixture is an amazing well-built light.
Depending on the number of lamps in the units, the power cords will be able to control different groups of lamps independently. That allows you to set multiple timers or a controller to "ramp" the light up in the morning and down at night. The Matrixx II gives off a beautiful even light with 99.8% reflective reflectors that keep hot spots and shadows from forming and blending all the lamps into one cohesive color illumination.
With active and passive cooling technologies keeping your T5 lamps at the proper temperature for maximum par output and bulb life is taken care of by the Matrixx II fixtures. With a glass panel that seals off the top of the fixture acting as a giant heatsink, while keeping a beautiful aesthetic appeal. The Matrixx II units have a robust heavy duty extruded and formed aluminum alloy for the outer with hand assembly putting them all together. All parts are pre-painted before assembly to keep corrosion from forming and protect your investment.
Giesemann uses high-quality ballasts as they do understand for a slight bit more in ballast cost, the light output is much greater than the standard ballasts the industry uses.

Honest review By cory on 5/25/2019cory wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI like the light it self I have 2 36” dimmable there are a couple issues I have. 1. the light can only be controlled via Bluetooth android there is no buttons of any kind on it. 2. Hanging it there are holes in the top to screw bolts into well the top is glass and the holes don’t line up with the metal that the bolts go in to. I had to completely take it apart and fixe this on all 4 holes on both lights. 3. You have to take it apart to change bulbs 4 There is no moon lights. I got these on clearance but if I paid $1,000+ for them I would not be happy at all.
Great looking and performing Fixture! By Nick on 10/14/2017Nick would recommend this product to a friendI have now been using this fixture for more than a year and a half, and I have never once regretted my purchase. The light is extremely well built looks great above my tank and has been performing excellent. I have it positioned over a Versa 42 and with a Apex PMK apogee Sensor on the bottom I pick up 65 ~ 75 PAR w/ 2 ATI Blue Plus, coral plus and an Actinic bulb. The only con is that the fixture can get extremely hot with less performance if you leave the plexi shield on as their is no fans to help with removing the heat. Otherwise I love the fixture and don't intend on upgrading anytime soon.
