Waste if time By Tracie on 10/3/2018Tracie wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI've been trying to get this pos to work for 4 months. It takes about 2 hours and 100 tries to actually connect to the damn things, once you're connected the connection only lets about a week and then the fans forget you and go back to 20% output, leaving you to try to re connect them yet again.
Rossmont support is a joke.
Confusing at first but it is workin ok now. By Bob B on 5/23/2018Bob B would recommend this product to a friendI bought this to control 2 MX2600’s that I had purchased from BRS 6 months ago. Controlling them with my Apex was creating a lot of rattling at the initial pump start. I was hesitant at first as the reviews are mixed on this controller. Finianlly pulled the trigger, at first I thought, this was one big mistake! I contacted BRS and Tyler hooked me up with Rossmont where I finally figured out that the App they use must be somewhat new as their are a lot of videos and instruction out there that tell you how to direct connnect using a web browser. This will not work with my controller but the app does. Also you have to use port 80 for getting on your WiFi. After several days with Rossmont the controller is working correctly. The pumps are silent Using the preset cycle program with 20% to 100% speeds. I have several things that I don’t like about there app. First, if I use a preset there is now way to know what % the pump is currently running. Second, setting the times with the IPad interface of scrolling number dials and sliders is a royal pain! I think android is different. Third, trying to program using the graph and setting points was next to impossible! Gave up on that and went with presets.
I did have to replace a propeller in one of the pumps as it was rattling at lower speeds. That’s another story! Bottom line, I’ve have less than $400 invested in 2 pumps and controller for a 6’ 180 gallon reef tank and I have a nice alternating gyre flow going from one side to the other so it’s ok.
Started well but By gabrial on 12/15/2017gabrial wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI was excited on this but within a few weeks the controller and two 4100 pumps seized(pump swelled up around impellers). They did replace the controller and two 4100's but then a few weeks and the second controller died. The pumps were still working this time. I basically took a big loss and just gave up. Did not want to go through this every few weeks.
Great flow control! By Joshua on 12/12/2017Joshua would recommend this product to a friendNot sure what the problem others are having setting this up, I don't know much about computers and I hooked it up to my WiFi in 5 mins. My buddy with vortech pumps even likes it!
WORST CONTROLLER EVER By Freddie on 11/18/2017Freddie wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI have use this Wave controller for about a year now, worst thing ever. Looks nice but that's about it. I was hoping they would fix the way it was enter faced with the web. very hard to understand there internet setup if you can even get on to there web site. wish I could get my money back. $200 dollars for junk. great pumps but this controller kills it.
This is the worst controller i have tried to use. By Darryl on 11/9/2017Darryl wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThis controller is the worst that i have tried to use. connecting to the unit is fine but trying to get the settings to A) save B) run both channels the way there supposed to C) trying to hook up the wifi part is absolutely ridiculous .
It has to restart to save your settings and it goes into nowhere land .
Just junk also not sure if channel 2 just doesn't want to run at 100% or the matching pumps are just terrible.seems to run at 20% while channel 1 is at maybe 80%.
waste of Money
Very difficult to program By Mussy65 on 9/26/2017Mussy65 wouldn't recommend this product to a friendKeep trying to connect to the web address, no luck. have googled troubleshooting to no avail. For $200 you could spend your money better. you have trouble even accessing the website to program the Waver, no response from the 2 contacts on Rosssmont website. DONT BUY
Sorry piece of technology By Dad on 8/1/2017Dad wouldn't recommend this product to a friendBought this to control 2 of my 3 rossmont pumps. Software would not work with my iPad or phone. Had multiple calls to technology support, nothing worked. I use them without the wasted controller which cost $200. Technology is not there yet.
Lots of options and very solid By Morse on 4/2/2017Morse would recommend this product to a friendThe controller works excellent so far. Easy to program and interface is solid to use. With two types of updates firmware and software who knows what they might introduce next. The standard WEP security should be replaced with the latest more secure version(imho) Very well made and low power consumption. This is perfect for any tank with all the pumps they offer.
I would like to run 4 Mover Powerhead pumps. How would I go about this? Will I need 2 controllers?
How many pumps can this control? Is each channel for only one pump?
This unit can control up to two pumps. : )
The all equipment is in a room behind a wall is it possible to connect ?
Or you just need to program at the begining
The wireless functionality does allow you to access and program your pumps through the browser-based interface, but the Wave controller does need to be connected to the pumps for control.
