- Schedule 80 Union Slip x Slip
Why does BRS recommend this?
We have never heard “I put too many unions on my plumbing.” When it comes to the initial plumbing, servicing, repair, or replacement of any hardware unions will be your best friend. For a couple extra bucks right off the start, down the line, they will pay for themselves when you only need to replace a foot of plumbing and not all of it.
Slip x Slip
Don’t skimp on unions! Easily take apart plumbing sections or remove sumps and pumps for maintenance with unions. The swivel action of a union allows one to position the angle of the elbow even after the glue dries.
The golden rule of plumbing is that every job takes three trips to the store. While this can be frustrating locally it can be much worse when shopping online. Being short a fitting or two can delay a plumbing project for days. Here are some quick tips to avoid this.
- Plan your plumbing on paper
- Don't skimp on unions. Unions allow for easy breakdown and maintenance as well as remove the need for precise elbow placement. Use them as often as possible.
- When in doubt order extra. We happily accept returns for a full refund (less shipping) on all unused fittings within one month of purchase. A few extra bucks in return shipping is less frustrating than a project delay.

Excellent Quality Unions By Jarrod on 2/26/2015Jarrod would recommend this product to a friendThese unions are a lot nicer than my local hardware stores, and redoing my system I put them everywhere I could fit one and I'm happy I did, makes it so much easier to take apart and add or clean things. What a great product sch 80 is the only way to go..
Well Constructed Union By Brandon on 1/30/2014Brandon would recommend this product to a friendThese are very well constructed unions. I use them on my sch 80 piping with no problems at all. As a recommendation when installing, install with the gasket facing up (so gravity holds it down) as its been noted that this method provides a slightly better chance of having the bulkhead not leak.
Don't plumb without these!! By MJ's Custom Aquarium Water on 9/21/2012MJ's Custom Aquarium Water would recommend this product to a friendIf you aren't putting in a true union ball valves, put these in. Don't plumb your system without making places to take it apart for maintenence of the pump or fixing problems that arise. So glad I did
Excellent By KEN on 6/22/2012KEN would recommend this product to a friendGreat valve! So much better than the local hardware store. It's just as they say in the video you'll wish you had put in more. At first I was concerned that they might leak. No worries. Best of all they are made in the USA.
Will the 1" sized union fit 1" PVC pipe within it or do I need the 1.25" union if I am using 1" PVC?
Have a great day!
Are these spears brand unions?
These are Spears unions! Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
I need replacement O-rings for 1 1/2" Schedule 80 Union and for true union 1 1/2" Cepex ball valve. Can I get them from you? Or where can I order them from.
I'm afraid we don't currently have replacement components available for these fittings and only have complete union and ball valve assemblies. My initial search did not turn up any resources for replacement o rings specifically for these products, though it may be possible to buy a third party o ring which would fit. You could also try reaching out to the manufacturer directly to see if they have them available.
