PNS Deep Cycle from Hydrospace brings real reef microbiology into your aquarium by introducing a diverse mix of beneficial anaerobic bacteria often missing in closed reef systems. These microbes naturally inhabit low-oxygen zones like deep sand beds and live rock, where they help reduce nutrients, improve water quality, and support long-term biological stability. By working together rather than competing, the bacteria in PNS Deep Cycle create a balanced and self-sustaining microbial community that mirrors what’s found in natural reef environments.

This shelf-stable formula is easy to use and ideal for new tank setups that need a biological jumpstart, especially when using dry rock or sterile substrate.

What is Actually in PNS Deep Cycle?

PNS Deep Cycle contains three types of natural bacteria found in healthy reef environments, but usually absent in new or sterile tanks. These microbes work in low-oxygen areas to help clean the water, break down waste, and build a more balanced ecosystem.

Rhodovolum sp.: Improves water quality through the consumption of dissolved organic matter, where after it becomes a nutritious live food due in part to its probiotic properties and relatively high content of fatty acids.

Marichromatium purpuratum: Improves water quality by consuming dissolved organic matter, reducing nitrate and sulfide concentrations and providing probiotic benefits.

Prosthecochloris sp.: Plays important roles in nitrogen and sulfur cycling and likely forms a symbiotic relationship with stony corals as an endolithic diazotroph.

Directions

Store at room temperature. Treats 400 gallons. Disperse 1.25 mL/gal broadly into an area of moderate flow; may also be injected or soaked into substrate or bio media for maximal efficacy (scan QR code to review instructions for special applications). Multiple doses can be safely applied and may increase likelihood of permanent colonization. For optimal results, cut protein skimmer, UV sterilizer and ozone generator for one hour following each dose.
