Works great By Andrew on 3/5/2018Andrew would recommend this product to a friendThis filter works really well. I bought it to use after the under-sink RO drinking water tank since some people had complained the storage tank made the water have a slight taste. I never noticed the taste but since this filter is cheap and is good for 1500 gallons, I figured it was worth it. I don't have any issues with flow restriction. One thing that might be helpful...it comes with little pieces of plastic inside the quick-connect fittings (you can see them in the photo above) that have holes in them. These pieces look like they are meant to stay in and the RO tubing goes over them. I thought I was sent the wrong size or something and was ready to return this. After two calls to BRS (the first person didn't seem to understand what I was saying and assured me I has the correct product), the second person mentioned these plastic inserts are meant to come out before use. This isn't obvious and no paperwork is included with the filter. The inserts take a decent amount of force to remove, and you'd think you were breaking something...you aren't. Pull them out.
Excellent Quality By Todd A on 4/1/2017Todd A would recommend this product to a friendExcellent quality. No issues with water pressure. 1/4" fittings compatible with most residential RO systems. BRS filters have worked perfectly with my 5 stage APEC and have saved $$$. I recommend BRS to all my friends.
Too restrictive By Benjamin on 11/28/2016Benjamin wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI decided to buy this filter as a replacement for my drinking water RO system because it's American made and much higher quality than the one that came with my RO unit. Don't get me wrong, the filter is nice, but every RO unit I can think of that I have come across uses 3/8 fittings in the final polishing filter because the faucet and tank all come standard as 3/8 for better flow. I didn't think there would be any problems seeing as how BRS sells RO units with this same filter installed. So I bought all the adapters to reduce everything from 3/8 to 1/4. Big mistake! My water flow out of the faucet is terrible in comparison to a 3/8 line set up.
The only reason I am keeping it 1/4 is I am getting a delivery pump for an ice maker and will tee of the line to the faucet as well.
The filters are priced right but I highly recommend BRS offer the K2520-cc model of this filter that has the 3/8 female thread so people have some kind of choice. I also recommend they convert their drinking water RO units to 3/8 as well when it's coming to the tank, faucet and final polishing filter.
