When it comes to metal halide lighting fixtures the Giesemann Infiniti light fixture has proven to be the nicest in its class. With four T5 lamps per fixture which work beautifully with the metal halide lamp to give your tank a rich full color with a natural shimmer. Each T5 reflector has been designed with CAD software to maximize lighting output while creating an even blend of light throughout the tank.
Each pair of T5 tubes is controlled individually allowing you to create a sunrise and sunset by gradually increasing the light being emitted into the tank. We do prefer to use a mix of actinic and daylight T5 lamps along with a metal halide lamp around 14000K color temperature for a mixture of great growth and coloration.
Giesemann Metal Halide fixtures come coated in a super strong anti-corrosive finish to help keep the fixture looking like brand new, years down the line. All the parts are pre-painted before assembly to ensure all metal parts are covered and to allow for easy disassembly. Tempered Glass is included to protect the metal halide lamps from salt splash and dust, where the T5 lamps include acrylic splash guards.

Giesemann Infiniti MH/T5 48" light fixture By Alan on 8/1/2016Alan wouldn't recommend this product to a friendNot at all what I expected. Firstly, this light throws of so much heat, and has no way to cooling fans, a small slit on top of the fixture to vent?, I guess. German engineering got this one wrong. This should be sold as a heater, not a light. However, it's certainly bright, they recommend hanging this light a minimum of 12" above the water line. In doing this you can only view the tank standing up, as soon you are at sitting level you are blinded by the extreme light coming mainly from the Metal Halide bulbs. I tried setting the fixture at 7 " above aquarium, still blinded and uncomfortable sitting anywhere near the tank because of the extreme heat radiating from the light. Well Giesemann I'd have to rate this a total failure. It's new home is now the shed.
