ESV B-Ionic Component 1 - Alkalinity is the alkalinity portion of ESV's two-part Calcium Buffer System. It supplies the carbonate alkalinity consumed by corals and other calcifying organisms and is designed to be dosed alongside B-Ionic Component 2 - Calcium.

When used together in equal amounts, the B-Ionic Calcium Buffer System provides calcium and alkalinity while also supplying important major, minor, and trace elements in ratios formulated to help maintain the ionic balance of aquarium water. The system can also help replenish inorganic ions removed through processes such as protein skimming.

Concentrated Formula
This 4-gallon size is supplied as a concentrate and must be diluted with RO/DI or distilled water before use. Once properly prepared, the container makes 4 gallons of Component 1 alkalinity solution.

Recommended Dosage

The recommended starting dose for the complete B-Ionic Calcium Buffer System is 1 mL of Component 1 and 1 mL of Component 2 per 4 gallons of aquarium volume per day.

Test calcium and alkalinity frequently when establishing your dosing schedule and adjust the amount as needed to maintain stable levels. Aquarium demand will vary depending on coral stocking, growth, and other factors.

Dose Component 1 and Component 2 separately in an area of good water flow. Do not combine the concentrated solutions together before adding them to the aquarium.

Important: This product contains Component 1 - Alkalinity only. B-Ionic Component 2 - Calcium is sold separately and is required for use as the complete ESV B-Ionic Calcium Buffer System.
