The 3163 utilizes the Streamfilter 3163 propeller pump to deliver added water movement while maintaining the clean, minimalist design and near-silent operation. As with other Comline filters, the 3163 includes a built-in surface skimmer, as well as other thoughtful touches like a small chamber for pH or temp probes. The Comline filters will efficiently remove surface scum, while the main chamber can accommodate filter floss as well as a bag of chemical media such as activated carbon. The patented magenetic mounts will securely hold the filter on the side of the tank while the silicone rubber dampers prevent any vibration transfer to the glass, keeping noise to a minimum.
A thoughful feature of the 3163 is that the Tunze Osmolator 3155 automatic top-off system can be directly mounted to the rear side of the filter. This position ensures optimum water level for the aquarium and the Comline filter while also saving on space.
