- Bulkhead Nut Tool - Barr Aquatic Systems
Makes Installing Bulkheads Easier and Quicker
Compatible with Bulk Reef Supply ABS Bulkheads
Installing bulkhead nuts can be tough, especially when they are in the back corner of your tank. Barr Aquatic's Nut Tool is perfect to slip over the bulkhead nut and give you a textured surface to turn. The 3D printed bulkhead nut removal tools work with most ABS bulkheads that have a 6-sided retaining nut. No longer will you need to strain your hands or use risky metal tools that can overtighten or slip and break your expensive glass aquarium. The plastic tool allows you to easily slip it over the bottom of the bulkhead, securely grab the nut and then apply the proper amount of pressure with just your hand. Also includes a T bar on the end, allowing the use of a notched pipe to make an extension for deep, skinny overflow boxes.
Four Sizes Available: (sizing represents ABS bulkhead size)
- 3/4" ABS Bulkheads - Works with bulkhead nuts that are 42mm in diameter or less, with six sides.
- 1" - Works with bulkhead nuts that are 53mm in diameter or less, with six sides.
- 1 1/2" - Works with bulkhead nuts that are 71mm in diameter or less, with six sides.
- 2" - Works with bulkhead nuts that are 87mm in diameter or less, with six sides.

May work better for smaller bulkheads By Garran on 11/22/2019Garran would recommend this product to a friendI bought this to tighten my 1" bulkheads. The idea is good and maybe it would work great for smaller bulkheads, but for my 1" ones it kept twisting and cracking. I think if the walls were thicker on that one it would of been perfect. I ended up having to use a pair of pliers to tighten mine. I would recommend for someone using the smaller ones as they are probably thicker and stronger but not the 1" one.
Handy Tool for hard to reach bulkheads By Allen on 6/24/2019Allen would recommend this product to a friendI've always struggled to tighten bulkheads in the stand for their overflow bulkheads. This tool allowed me to tighten the bulkhead within seconds rather then spending 20 minutes trying to use pliers or similar tools. I bought the 3/4 bulkhead nut tool and it's about 3.5" tall.
BRS should update their picture of the product. It does not look like this. The actual product is thicker and the bottom has an "X" to insert a tool if you require additional torque and not the single thin plastic picture above. Also, the grip looks different. I was not going to buy it at first because it looked cheap and flimsy. I'm glad I did though.
