Rent an Apogee MQ-210 PAR Meter for 7 days!
Ideal for T5 and Metal Halide Lights
Knowing the total intensity of your aquarium lights can dramatically help with coral growth and health, but the meters are very expensive and only require a couple uses right when you get your lights set up and running, making them a hard to justify the purchase. We now offer a PAR meter rental program that lets you use an Apogee MQ-210 Underwater Quantum PAR Meter and Apogee Sensor Wand for one week, giving you time to perfectly tune your lights!

Increased Accuracy for all Underwater Lighting Measurements!
Measure and store the PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) readings of your reef tank to ensure the healthy growth of your inhabitants.
- Handheld meter with large, easy to read LCD display
- Records reading for review
- Record measurement in Automatic mode or Manually
- The separate sensor head is fully potted, dome-shaped design - waterproof, weatherproof and self-cleaning
The MQ-210 Par Sensor has been specifically designed to give reliable and repeatable readings underwater with all types of natural and electronic lighting. Apogee now has the immersion correction factor installed in the meter and will automatically compensate for any effects underwater readings may have.
Quantum refers to the amount of energy carried by a photon. Apogee quantum sensors measure photosynthetically active radiation or photosynthetic photon flux (PPF). Photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), or photosynthetic photon flux (PPF), is the spectral range (wave band) of solar radiation from 400 to 700 nanometers that photosynthetic organisms are able to use in the process of photosynthesis.
We personally like inputting all of our reading into a spreadsheet to make a chart of light output and overlay the readings on a photo as well. Having a picture with your tanks PAR levels is very handy to have when placing new corals in your tank.

Worth it By Chuck on 4/11/2019Chuck would recommend this product to a friendThe $40 spent on this rental might be the best $40 I have spent on my tank in a long time. Some of my frags (particularly SPS) were surviving but not really thriving, so I decided to rent this meter and check out my lighting. The unit was clean, well packaged and very easy to use. I quickly realized my PAR levels were roughly 100 points lower than what i expected in much of the tank. After increasing the intensity and lowering the height of my lights a few inches, I was able to easily get my PAR levels in the range where i wanted them. My corals look happier now. I just wish I'd done it sooner.
Amazing unit! By Chris on 2/25/2019Chris would recommend this product to a friendThis unit is amazing and is really a must have if you want to get your new tank setup properly so you know where to place corals at and not bleach them out!
It arrived really quick and was packaged beautifully, a nice card included with instructions and return shipping was a breeze. If you don't rent this out when setting up your lights your missing out
If you don't rent this you're failing! By Ethan on 1/13/2019Ethan would recommend this product to a friendSo glad you can rent this! Worked great and was able to tune my lights to minimize low spots that looked brighter than they really were. Definitely will be renting this again for the next tank!
