This budget-friendly skimmer is far from low quality. The Sicce powered skimmer has a custom pump that was designed for Somatic skimmers pulls in tons of air and water making a perfect mixture for skimming, while the integrated wedge-pipe silencer assembly keeps the skimmer super quiet.
Designed for use with the Somatic 120 Filtration System.
Many protein skimmers can be twice the price but only have half the features. Somatic has created a full feature skimmer at a quarter of the price as traditional skimmers, and will not leave you disappointed. Many of the little features that are only found on high-end skimmers are incorporated into the 120S Space Saving Skimmer. From laser engraved markings on the wedge pipe to polished and fully welded seams all around. The integrated silencer sits in the top of the wedge pipe keeping it protected and out of your way for maintenance around the sump area. The silencer also has a nipple that can be connected to CO2 Scrubbers or other accessories.
The custom Sicce pump was specifically designed for Somatic skimmers, to their specifications. The pumps impeller and venturi design pull in copious amounts of water and air, mixing them together and pushing them up towards the dispersion bubble plate. The bubble plate considerably reduces turbulence while the wine body shape of the skimmer helps remove any further disturbance of bubbles directing them up into the neck and making a seamless transition into the collection cup producing high-quality skimmate.

Great Skimmer, even better price By Reefer Dave on 1/25/2019Reefer Dave would recommend this product to a friendI have a 6 ft 180 gallon tank ... i replaced my skimz skimmer that had a failed pump with the Somatic 120 and couldn't be happier. I was strained on budget, but am very happy. the somatic is pulling almost double what my other skimmer did and it is dark! can't beat dark skimmate. The sicce pump also looks like it will keep going for a long time.. Thanks!
NOT super quiet at all By Pedal Dammit on 9/11/2018Pedal Dammit would recommend this product to a friendI am disappointed because BRS advertises this skimmer as "super quiet" . My 90s is VERY loud in my opinion and not quiet whatsoever. I'm sure this is because it is working like crazy as I have no complaints about the function of the skimmer, it produces fantastic skimmate and it's easy to adjust so it does just that. However, I challenge BRS to do a decibel test on popular skimmers or at least on ones they say are "super quiet" That would make for a great skimmer comparison you-tube video. Fantasy? Is there such a thing as a silent skimmer? Maybe you can give me return credit for a skimmer that proven as "super quiet" Because of all this I am torn between a recommendation or not. If you don't care about noise, it seems like a great skimmer otherwise so I will go with recommend, but a 3 rating due to noise.
