Nice rock By Aaron on 4/21/14Aaron would recommend this product to a friendI ordered forty pounds of rock and am very happy with the rock received. End up 9 pieces of rock ranging from 6 to 10 inches in diameter roughly. The pukani I rock has nice structure and is much more interesting to look at than some other rocks. I would definitely buy more for future builds.
Nice By Rafael on 4/8/14Rafael would recommend this product to a friendI received a lot of rock but seems I will need to cure it and didn't received any large pieces overall ok
Nice By Gary on 4/7/14Gary would recommend this product to a friendLots of character to this rock. It is nice that you can specify the size pieces you would like.
Great buy By Ryan on 4/7/14Ryan would recommend this product to a friendRock was as good as expected and received what seemed like more than the amount I purchased.
WOW PUKANI By jabari on 3/30/14jabari would recommend this product to a friendYou can not beat this rock for the price and the size i ordered 56 lbs of the pukani and it came in two boxes I ask for one large piece and then the rest football sized and BRS delivered in spades they will have this customer for life
Great By Jason on 3/27/14Jason would recommend this product to a friendI received a 50 LB order and I couldn't be happier. I got one stand alone piece that after cutting the bottom flat sits at ~17' inches tall / 8-12' around and weighs in at only 25 lbs dry. At first I was a bit disappointed with it but after a one day vinegar bath and a few days of freshwater curing some dried organics started sloughing off and it is a lot more open now. the remainder of the order went to building two additional large structures and I only have a gallon bag of rubble remaining.
Everything went together well and the organics are coming off quickly by blasting through the rock with the hose off of my 900 GPH return pump. It would take a long time for everything to dissolve with just regular powerhead circulation.
The best decision I have made on my build By Daniel on 3/26/14Daniel would recommend this product to a friendI have been in the hobby for over 7 years and I have build three tanks. I can honestly say that buying this rock it has been the best decision I haver ever made while building my aquascaping. Is light (so you get more for your money) very easy to work with, and fit together like legos... Just perfect!!!
Porous rock! Great for the weight! By Mike on 3/22/14Mike wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThis is nice rock but make sure you cure this rock! You will have phosphates if you don't
Awesome. By Arthur on 3/19/14Arthur would recommend this product to a friendSuper light and porous which means more product for your money AND an all around better product. My pseudochromis has made one large piece of pukani into his home, weaving in and out of the gaps. This stuff goes from base rock to live in no time, also making way for some quick coralline.
Best Live Rocks! By Nil on 3/14/14Nil would recommend this product to a friendI wish I knew about these rocks before. They are excellent rocks in terms of look, with many gaps and crevices and porosity. This was the easiest rock to cut. I cut couple of rocks to make them stand on their base with a power saw, it cuts so easily. The rocks came in great condition with hardly any dirt or dead material. Some rocks looked just as shown in pictures. I wish my whole tank was full of these rocks. I would buy these if I were to start a new tank.
Awesome rock By Josh on 3/12/14Josh would recommend this product to a friendThis rock is awesome. Its so porus and lightweight you get double theamount per pound and it looks aamazing. Brs sent some awesome peices both times I've ordered it and I plan on another order soon
high quality By dnote on 3/7/14dnote would recommend this product to a friendVery nice rock. It definitely has some dead sponges and whatnot in it, but by curing for a while or giving it an acid bath, the rock is good to go. Nice and porous with great shapes

Generally how many pieces of rock would come in a 15 lb shipment? I have a 45gal and don't necessarily want a 15lb rock but several smaller rocks.
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Ryan,
As far as rock goes, pukani is one of the larger types so your typical 15lbs would usually be something like 3-5 rocks at their smallest sizes.

question about the pukani rock. how many pounds is one rock
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Dana,
No two rocks are the same but a football size piece will generally be right in the ball park of 7-8lbs or so.

The 20+" pukani. Are they all about 20+" or are some bigger. The rocks smaller than 20". Would I expect to get rocks as small as 5 inches. Or are they just under 20". Will I get a variation of sizes.
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Dana,
The 20" + pukani is rocks that have a dimension that is 20" and bigger. They can get much larger then 20". Rocks that aren't 20" or bigger would all have dimensions that are smaller then 20".

Hello, if I was to buy dry rock and put in qty of 15 would I get 15 rocks or 15 pounds?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Jon,
All of the rock is sold by the pound. If you order a quantity of 15lbs you would receive 15lbs of rock.

How many pounds would I need for a reef tank with dimensions of 36x17x25 approx 65 gallons? Thanks, Eric.
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Eric,
For a nice middle of the road aquascape, 1lb per gallon is a good ballpark value (so 65lbs). Never hurts to have some extra though, helps with aquascaping when you have more rocks to chose from and if you end up with extra's you can always throw them in the sump, break them up to use as frag plugs, etc.
BRS Pukani Dry Aquarium Live Rock - our lightest and most porous and full of holes that become nice homes and passage ways for your tank's inhabitants. Like all of our dry rock, Pukani is free of nuisance algae and pests which can cause complete tank shut downs. It is guaranteed to be free of apitasia, bubble algae, parasitic isopods, mantis shrimp, acro eating flat worms, little red bugs, fire worms, predatory nudibranchs, pyramidellid snails and other common pests.
Using Dry Rock has the following advantages:
- Low initial cost on premium types of rock.
- Pound for pound a way better value - no water weight.
- Can be shipped standard UPS ground which saves a fortune on shipping.
- Absolutely pest free. This is the most important reason. This allows you to completely avoid all of the most common aquarium pests that plague most aquarists.
NOTE: This rock does come out of the ocean and may have some dead material on it such as sponges or other critters. We strongly suggest soaking or curing the rock before use in an active aquarium.
Dry live rock is not available for shipment to Canada due to high tariffs. Please consider Reef Saver rock as it is not subject to these fees and is our favorite of the dry rocks available.
