Product Questions

Hi can I use zeostart w/out zeovit reactor? because my sump it to small for reactor.
Thanks.
Question by: Sergi on May 20, 2016 12:37:00 AM
Great question! We only recommend using Zeovit products with complete Zeovit systems that utilize a Zeolith reactor, and a high powered skimmer.

My question is on dosing I have a 24 gal nano and a sump with extra 5 gal. so with displacement I estimate around 25 to 28 gal. I just was wondering if I was correct on this should I dose .2 mls? Any suggestions I'm just starting this do I want it rite from the get go.thanks

Great question!
You will ideally want to dose the correct amount (.2ml) directly into the zeovit reactor for best performance. It is a fairly simple process. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

Full Details

Promotes the reproduction of all nitrifying bacteria in the aquarium to help the system naturally remove phosphate and nitrate.

If you have a high nutrient load and are just starting the ZEOvit system, start by dosing 2 mL per 250 gallons (net water volume) of water each day until nutrient levels drop. Subsequently dose 1-2 mL per 250 gallons. Best results are seen when dosing is split up throughout the day and automated using a high quality dosing pump.

  • Good so far on a new build By Smo on 9/22/2016

Running the ZEOvit system on a new 65G reef tank build—my first. Was heavily influenced by the BRS 160 series so I thought I would give it a try. So far I am impressed with their products. The tank is currently cycling. I will update when it stabilizes and I can start adding livestock.
  • Not happy By Sharon on 2/5/2016

Only my birds best seems to be ok. But the rest don't seem to be happy. Looking for a refund
  • Works well with all the other Zeovit Products. By Michael on 1/24/2016

I've been using this product with Zeovit line for about 6 months now. it really keeps your nutrients in check.

Dose twice a day with the basic 4, and see no phosphates or mitrates, I love this product line

  • Much Pricier than VGV, but worth every penny. By Lindsey on 9/9/2012

Started using the zeovit system about a year and a half ago, had great results, and then about six months ago I tried replacing the zeovit with a cheaper zeolyte product, and the zeostart with VGV to save some cash.

Needless to say it doesn't work nearly as well. The whole thing is terribly unstable, and the cyano has been a constant battle. I was hoping given a couple months it would stabilize, but six months later it is still a mess. I've even tried using just vinegar, because the zeostart smells mostly like vinegar, but I still can't get the nutrient reduction I did with the zeostart.

That tank is scheduled for a major renovation this fall, but when I bring it back on line I will be going back to the zeovit system including zeostart, which is worth every penny.
  • Stronger than VSV By Blake on 12/7/2011

Easy to use and stronger than VSV, bottle goes a long way. Have had excellent results in combination with ZeoBak
