Used light in the sump to grow algae to limit algae growth in the display tank. Light is low profile and doesn't produce alot of heat. Power plug is also low profile and was easy to plug into my apex power strip.
Great for the refugium By Emilio on 1/2/2016Emilio would recommend this product to a friendEasy to setup and control.
Happier By Rob on 12/28/2015Rob would recommend this product to a friendThis is an update to my previous post. While i had issues with my first light & i contacted the company without having my warranty card filled out, they did respond to me and help me find a resolution. I sent my light to them (I had to pay the freight), they checked the light out & deemed it was a bad light & then sent me a replacement.
Light only lasted 3 months By Rob on 10/5/2015Rob wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI have been quite please with all my Innovative Marine products, so i was excited about utilizing the Magnafuge light with my IM mini 40 Fusion tank. It was easy to set up & worked great. I ran it from 9pm to 9am every day. However, after 3 months it quit working. Since I did not fill out the warranty card within 14 days my warranty was void. Innovative Marine will not do anything since i did not fill out the warranty. I have seen other posters who experienced the same issue. This is one product from IM I would recommend you do not purchase. If you do be sure to fill out the warranty card within 14 days!!
Pay attention to the dimensions By Nikki on 6/7/2015Nikki would recommend this product to a friendIt's nice to have light coming from the side, no more salt build up on the light canopy. My tank 180 G, the refugium needs two lights. With that said the macro I focused the light on had shown improvement within in a few days.
Works well on a traditional sump By Old Salt on 2/17/2014Old Salt would recommend this product to a friendI had the Innovative Marine suction cup refugium light. It worked well, but every once in a while the suction cup would let go and the light would fall into the water. So I got this one and it works well. It's a little strange having it on the side of the sump (hence the 4 stars) instead of extending over it. But it is bright and grows the macro algae well. Most important it is really secure.
