Fiji Pink

0.5 - 1.5 Small uniform grain size with flecks of pink quartz. Ideal for tanks with sand-sifting inhabitants

Special Grade (Currently Viewing)

1.0 - 2.0 Our best-selling sand mix. Uniform medium grain size good for tanks with medium amounts of flow and still sand-sifter friendly.

Bahamas Oolite

0.25 - 1.0 Fine uniform grain size. Ideal for low flow aquariums.

Hawaiian Black

0.25 - 3.5 Semi-uniform grain size. Creates a striking contrast with colorful fish and coral in the aquarium.

Bimini Pink

0.5 - 5.0 Wide variety of particle sizes.

Florida Crushed Coral

3.0 - 5.5 Large particle sizes. Ideal for high flow aquariums, but not great for sand dwelling inhabitants.

I currently have a 120 gal established tank and am moving to a new 210 Gal tank. The 120 gal tank has Bahamas Oolite. Would you recommending against mixing the existing sand with the Special Grade in the new tank to save money?

i was going to get this sand to work at replacing some old sand in my established aquarium. but is there a better way to go for that? should i do dry sand?

Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us. As with any replacement sand used there will be the water sand cloud when first used. But will settle in time. So the choice is up too you. I prefer the 20 lb. Special Grade Arag-Alive! Reef Sand .Please let me know if you need anything further.

Because this is live sand: does it have a timeframe from purchase that it is no longer recommended for use?

It is recommended to use live sand within 2 years of the manufacturing date.
