Full Details

From titanium impellers to the sinusoidal three-phase synchronous motor, the materials used in the Abyzz pumps have been carefully selected for harmonious compatibility and integration. Calcium deposits are easily the biggest avoidable issue with pumps used in saltwater aquariums. Abyzz has gone a step above the competition by including a pre-installed flush bearing, and silicon carbide bearings that will help protect against calcium deposits forming in the first place allowing a lifetime of operation.


One of the concerns when choosing a large pump should be power consumption and efficiency. Abyzz motors operate at an efficiency factor of over 90% making them the perfect energy saving solution. The driver and motor run of 12v allowing them to be used with an uncounted amount of applications.

    Like the review above, I was running a leaky Reeflo Hammerhead, then tried a Royal Exclusiv Red Dragon 230w pump (which is a great pump BTW), but this A400 is on a whole other level. Obviously it's hard to compare it to other pumps based on price, but the GPH is about the same as the other 2 pumps, but in reality there is no comparison. I run this on a 600 gallon reef with multiple reactors and a chiller loop in the attic running water through a chiller in a different room, and it does all that at 90% power, where as I used to have to run 2 separate pumps for what I was doing.

    It's expensive, but this will be the last pump you buy, well worth it in my opinion!

    I used Reeflo Hammerhead Hybrid (6000/4590 GPH) for 3 years+, during those times, pump seal was leaking from time to time, it also gets louder. Finally my LFS told me the best upgrade I can do is try A400, it is pricey unit but I don't have the time and patience to deal with the Reeflo anymore, popped the A400 in, running 100% for 2 month now, although on paper it is only 60 GPH higher than reeflo, but I can tell you the flow is much quicker than before, I had to readjust the all my exit valves to accommodate the quicker flow. Best part is, it has no more leaky spot since its inside the sump, and no more noise as well. my sump is setup in the basement furnace room and the two display tanks are upstairs, only noise I can hear when I'm down that room is my furnaces now.

    One drawback on this unit is the heat coming off the control unit, it runs pretty hot when running 100% 24/7, so i bought a cheap fishtank fan off ebay to cool it.

    Overall I'm a happy customer, my LFS in Canada brought it in for me, and I'm glad to see BRS is carrying this pump now.
