For a 40 breeder you will be able to get by with the 4 bulb fixture just fine! the 6 bulb will be great if you need additional lighting for high light corals. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
This fixture will not include the bulbs, They will need to be purchased separately. In many cases we recommend the AquaBlue Special and the Blue Plus. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

Beyond Expectations By Lukas on 7/1/2016Lukas would recommend this product to a friendI bought the 6 bulb fixture to replace a Razor on my mixed reef (SPS heavy) 40 breeder. I bought one coral plus, one aquablue special, one purple plus one actinic and two blue pluses. I put my par meter under it and cringed at the coral nuking output. I immediately ordered another actinic and couldn't be happier with the PAR output and color blend. I can keep SPS on the sand bed in the center 1/3 of the tank easily. My corals look unbelievably better than they did under my old lighting.
Love this fixture! By Ryan on 11/7/2014Ryan would recommend this product to a friendI have the 8 bulb version on my 4 ft. 120 gallon reef tank. The build quality on this light is second to none. Very sleek and sexy. The only thing I would change is add a controller onboard or the ability to turn on the bulbs in more stages than 2 bulbs and 6 bulbs. Not a big deal, but it would be nice. I will definitely be sticking to ATI for t-5 fixtures.
