12v Power Supply for Neptune Apex Controllers applies power to the head unit

If you have an Apex Controller, more than likely you are trying to protect against equipment failure, along with monitoring, and alarm capabilities that can notify you in the event when something is going wrong. The 12V Power Supply is one of the most overlooked pieces of equipment that will possibly save your aquarium someday when there is a power outage. Use with a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) allowing your Apex Controller System to monitor, and have email/messaging capability in the event of power outage.

  • 6' power cord

By connecting your Apex Controller to the 12v power supply and then plugging it into a computer style UPS (uninterrupted power supply) along with your router/modem and an energy bar, you can have a complete battery backup system. With that, it can notify you through email or text messaging when power is lost and control certain life support outlets like low power consuming pumps and heaters.

What exactly does this device serve for the Apex unit? How is it beneficial?

Great question!
This power supply is not required however in some event people may not want to plug in the Energy Bar to the Apex through the aquabus, If this is the case they can use this power supply separately to power the main module.
