Keeping the temperature of your aquarium stable is one of the easiest things that can be done without having to invest in expensive electronics and fancy heat exchanging systems. The Bulk Reef Supply Titanium Aquarium Heater System is a complete temperature control system that includes a virtually unbreakable titanium heating element paired with a reliable and easy to use controller. The heater controller includes two large LCD displays that are easy to read and will let you know the current temperature of your aquarium along with the temperature programmed into the controller. Each heater controller can be custom calibrated and also features a replaceable temperature probe allowing the controller to last you a lifetime with simple probe maintenance. The heater(s) can plug into the 12" outlet dongle that is built into the controller and can control up to two heaters at the same time.

Compared to glass heaters, titanium heaters are virtually unbreakable and will never shatter in your aquarium and can conduct heat through the body much quicker, ultimately making them more efficient. In most cases when a glass heater fails, the failure-prone seals will go bad allowing water into the heater body and can start to corrode the contents inside the heater causing water contamination and possible electric shock, or the body will just shatter leaving glass particles throughout your aquarium. Titanium heating elements take both of those risks and virtually eliminate them by having a shatterproof body along with welded end caps for a life-time of operation.
0.3°F Control Precision
Keeping a reef tank's temperature steady is crucial to long-term success and the BRS Heater Controller lets you set the temperature anywhere between 58°F and 99.9°F and then will keep it within 0.3°F of the controllers set temperature.
Replaceable Temperature Probe
The tank's temperature is sensed through a replaceable probe that is 72" long and only takes a few seconds if it ever needs to be replaced. The low-cost probe is perfect for conditions like saltwater aquariums, where deposits and algae can grow on the probe that requires vigorous cleaning, and ultimately being the main failure point. If you ever notice the temperature starts to drift or not hold a calibration it is usually a good sign that the probe needs to be replaced.

Controller Horrible, Heater Rocks! Display on the controller is really nice but this thing is so inaccurate that I disconnected it and threw it in a drawer. Heating element being controlled by the APEX is rock solid. Wish I would have just purchased the element alone!

I don’t use it with the apex I check it with my thermometer no issues on 3 systems. No calibration needed so far. Corals and fish are happy
Great so far By Scott on 3/9/2020Scott would recommend this product to a friendI purchased this heater with 2 300 heating elements. Temp controller was set to maintain temp between 0.3 degrees of 78. Temp has been within that range since I plugged it in. I plan to purchase a second controller to split the heating elements and to create another layer of redundancy.
Not quite reliable enough By Mike on 1/25/2020Mike wouldn't recommend this product to a friendHad very high hopes for this but despite multiple calibrations, I couldn’t get the controller to stay in tune with my Apex.
The temp was consistent between Apex, digital thermometer, and mercury thermometer. BRS was over a degree off. I didn’t feel comfortable with the reliability of the controller. Heater does feel rock solid. Hoping they work out the bugs
Nice Heater, Poor Control By Big C on 12/19/2019Big C wouldn't recommend this product to a friendLike similar reviews I can't get the controller temperature reading to keep stable. Have the 600W heater plugged into the BRS controller and then plugged into my Apex (for redundancy). The temperature reading jumps all over the place. The heater works great when plugged into my Apex and use Apex for control but the BRS controller swings 1.3 oF throughout the day. Bought this for the 0.3 precision control. Working with BRS to get this figured out. Also keep in mind if plugging into Apex as another review noted you can't utilize the full 1,200 watts on a single outlet.

Compared to 3 other temp sources ( Apex, Hanna and another temp controller), this one would almost never show any change in temp through out the day when the others registered an almost 1 degree swing.

1200w doesn’t work with Apex By dennis on 11/30/2019dennis wouldn't recommend this product to a friendBRS preaches redundancy but you can not use the controller on the apex using the 1200w heaters. It overloads the outlet. Their suggestion is not to plug it into the apex and just rely on the controller. They should sell this configuration with 2 controllers. One for a standard outlet and one for the apex. Going to return and go back to using eheim and inkbird. That works with apex. As for heater it seems to be well made. Would probably give it 5 stars if it worked with apex like they advertised it in the videos.

Heater good, controller bad By Lithoman on 11/20/2019Lithoman would recommend this product to a friendI bought the 300W heater System 3 weeks ago.. Set it up and found the controller would not register the current temp unless I unplugged the temp probe then plugged it back in..would either go up or down to match my Apex temp reading. Sent email to BRS they said return it and... " if they find it defective" they will ship me a new one... My reply was NO, I'll buy a new one and send this one back after I receive the new one, as I need a backup heater.. Received the new heater system and got the same crazy readings.. to match the Apex every few hours I would unplug/plug it back in.….correct temp comes up.. Frustrated I removed the probe and controller and plugged the heater directly to my Apex controller, guess what it works great.. Conclusion: Heater works great, Controller not worth a nickel. Buy just the heater and you won't be disappointed.
I have and Neptune ApexEL and was wondering if if I needed the controller or can I hook them up directly to my Apex.? Do you sell the heaters without the controllers?
The apex can be used as a controller for the heaters but adding our controller will add another layer or protection from overheating.
Why does your controller look exactly like the inkbird controller!?
Great question! That would be because this controller is indeed manufactured by inkbird as we feel they have nailed down a reliable temperature controller that is also affordable to hobbyists. However there are a few differences you will want to keep in mind with our BRS branded controller:
- Temp differential can be set down to 0.3 degrees instead of 1 degree
- Temperature can be set to tenth decimal place
- Alarm sounds 3 degrees over set point, NOT above max set point of controller (which is 210 degrees)
- Easily replaceable plastic temp probes (all Inkbirds can technically have their probes replaced but this requires either soldering the new probe or using stainless steel probes)
- 2 heating outlets rather than 1 heating and 1 cooling

Yes it can be used with freshwater.
Can this be hooked up to a fan also and setup so that the fan turns on only when the temperature gets too high?
It can not be hooked up with a fan, it is a dual heater controller not a heater/chiller.
How best to use this with an Apex for added protection/redundancy?
Can the 1200w system be plugged into a single Apex outlet?
Unfortunately not, that would overload the capacity the APEX has. It would be best to let it operate on its own.
