Awesome light for the fun dollar! By Lunatic Fringe Inc on 4/6/2018Lunatic Fringe Inc would recommend this product to a friendJust got my 4 x 24 bulb fixture, swapped out the bulbs, got it over my 20 gallon Mixed Nano Reef and what a upgrade it was to a 2 x 65 watt PC that I had been using pending something better. Its like God said let there be light and there was! I do need to built a little bit of a canopy to sit it on over the top of my tank and clear everything or build a stand and design it so I can use the suspension cables. I guess the real test will be hows it doing weeks later down the road, but for now I am impressed!Looking at it the only way they could have made it better is to make it with two switches to control the lights and add a small cooling fan but then it wouldn't be so economically priced. I see a couple more of these in my future...

Can't Beat The Price By Lukas on 2/1/2016Lukas would recommend this product to a friendI ended up with this fixture after another episode of the indestructible RBTA. After some time happy in one spot of my DT it decided to take a flight to greener pastures and found my MP10. Two days later with my main flow pump shut down it still wouldn't let go and had to be forcibly removed. The foot was damaged and I felt certain it was done. Not having the heart to freeze and flush I unceremoniously plopped into my 20 long observation tank which was still set up from a fish purchase. To my elation and shock not only did it not die but it split. I needed to keep it in quarantine to heal. This left me in need of a new, cheap light system in a big hurry. This fixture fit the bill perfectly. It's no ATI but a four bulb fixture with replacement ATI bulbs I still came in around $200.00 and it's getting the job done. Definitely recommend for long term quarantine/observation for corals and nems.
What bulbs would go in this fixture for over a refugium
The Sun Blaze actually includes daylight bulbs which should be great for use with macro algae. Another option would be the Planted Super Flora from Giesemann.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
Does it come with individual reflectors?
The reflectors will be paired off with 2 bulbs per one reflector. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Are the bulbs exposed? How does this light do with moisture say in a closed canopy?
This does not have a glass cover and will need to be taken with care to avoid any salt spray. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions.
What are the widths of the 4 and 8 bulb fixtures?
Would the planted bulbs or the super purple bulbs be better for a refugium? Also, will this fixture put off enough heat for me to need cooling fans installed in my cabinet and if so can you recommend a product for this purpose?
For heat, if there is limited ventilation, these fixtures can add a fair amount of heat in an enclosed space, which could add a few degrees to your setup. I would plan on having some cooling fans such as a couple 4" computer fans on your cabinet to exhaust the warm air out.
Have a great day!
Can no one say how wide the 8 bulb fixture is?
This fixture measures 23.75"L x 22.5"W x 2.67"H
