Smart K-Link Communication

The new K-Link communication method is an upgrade of the easy plug & play 0-10V, allowing users to network multiple A360X together(up to 32 fixtures per chain) and set individual groups to run their own programs. K-Link is also a two-way communication, meaning the Spectral Controller X can detect the number of lights in the network, the status of the lights, etc.

 

One Controller, Two Ports

Each controller is equipped with one K-Link port and one 0-10V output port. The K-Link port allows users to connect to the new A360, while the 0-10V port is for Kessil’s 0-10V light fixture.

 

Program Mode

Features three ways of setting a customized light schedule to match individual tank needs. Maximum of 12 programs can be created

  • Quick Set - Create unique dawn and dusk effects by altering light intensity and color throughout eight different time points.
  • Acclimation Mode - Simplify the introduction of new lights to a tank or new corals to an existing setup with acclimation mode. The acclimation timeline can be customized to suit specific needs.
  • Manual Mode: Instantly tune color and intensity for on demand light customization.

 

Compatible With:

Kessil Spectral Controller X is backwards compatible with a wide variety of lights and includes a 0-10V port along with a K-Link connection, meaning you will not need to get new cables or equipment to control your lights.

Thanks for the question! The controller has time set points so you control the time, intensity, and color of the light all within the controller itself.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, this will work for your lights. You will need a cable to link both lights together and one to connect one light to the controller. It is the same cable.

Hi, can you let me know which cable I need to purchase in order to get the Spectral x controller to work with my 160 tuna blue? I read that an additional cable is needed. Also, is there anything else I would need to make these compatable? And, will the controller give me more lighting options/nuances that using the manual knobs on my kessil 160 tuna blue? Thanks

Hey Kym, thank you for the question! you will need the 90 degree Kessil unit cable (SKU: 210367) which is a 0-10V connection that you will need for the non-X series lights like your A160.

The Kessil X Controller will only work with Kessil lights. AI lights are controlled via their app.

Hi Scott,

In theory, any 0-10v control signal should work but since this unit is designed to work with Kessil lights I am afraid I am not able to recommend using it on your T5s. Doing so would likely void any warranty on the controller so I would also keep that in mind.

The product details states the X controller will work with the A80, but a question answered states the X controller is not adaptable to the other models. I am looking to control 2 tanks with one controller, my 40 will have the X, and my 12 has the A80. Will the X controller control both of them?

Hey there-

Thank you for reaching out to us! The X-series controller does work with both the A-series and X-series (there is a single K-link port and then one normal 3.5mm port). I have the exact same setup with one A360x tuna sun on the K-link port and then 3 A80s daisy chained on the 3.5mm port. If you have any other questions let us know. Happy reefing!

Will this controller open up the ability of moonlighting on previous kessil models (A360W-E) or are some functions of this controller limited to the A360x? Thanks

At this time the Spectral-X Controller will only work with the latest Kessil A360X lights. The connection cable is USB-C for this controller and not adaptable to the 3.5mm stereo input of the standard A360/A160/A80 lights.
