Should of bought them sooner
Could not be happier. It arrived fast and in perfect shape. Put them up right away and love them.
I upgraded from a cheep LED and I don’t regret paying for 2 of these. The ease of controlling this with a reef link and the immediate changes in corals are big change from my Current LEDs. If you really care about the health of your fish tank, DONT skimp on lights. Especially since your corals get their food from photosynthesis.
Flawless control with Apex
I have used these for over three years with the Apex controller and couldn't be happier. I had some trouble with the pairing, but once that worked out I have had no problems. These really are the best LED lights out there. FWIW if you are struggling with wether or not its worth the money to have this level of control for the premium price, the answer is yes. Splurge here. You get what you pay for when it comes to lighting.
Incredibly easy setup
I am still pretty new so I can't really judge these on their longterm effects on coral health. But, I can say that set up was incredibly easy,I'm still amazed that they automatically paired to each other without needing to connect to a pc or any modules. My only problem is the fans running nonstop, I'm sure they have a reason, but because of that i give them 8 out of 9 thumbs up
Good and Bad
The build quality of these fixtures is probably the best on the market. You just know your receiving quality. The light output is intense, I would venture to say its more than plenty even for dominated SPS tanks. Now for the bad. The reeflink is a half-baked joke. When you're paying the "Ferrari" price in lighting, I expect a fully capable and fully developed product. The software is far from that. Though it does function. After a few choice words and few cold beers to calm the nerves, you finally learn the bugs in the system. Having the ability to create a dusk dawn effect with the spectrum and intensity of your choice IS the greatest feature of LEDs. However, I am still torn on the quality of light. I have a high energy reef tank with lots of flow and the disco effect is really distracting and hard on the eyes. Not to mention looks ridiculous. If the optics of these fixtures is supposed to be the latest and greatest, I would hate to see anything less. This is almost enough at times to want to sell and go back to MH's. Don't let anyone kid you. The disco effect is STILL an issue. A few hopefull updates to the software and these would be great lights in the world of LED. I am still convinced that MH's give the best aesthetically pleasing light. LED's are still worlds away from this. BUT the efficiency and customization really offset the lack of aesthetics. It really comes down to what you want more.
love these lights
love the color, love the shimmer, easy to control and beyond quiet
I bought the gen 4 pro 10 months ago (2/17). I run the programming with an WXM module for my apex, extremely easy to get up and running. The growth and color of my sps under this light is crazy 1" frag has grown a 1 1/2" in 3 months compared to a lot less growth under the gen 3 on the other end of the tank.
If you thinking of buying this light just do it, it's so worth it.
The best lights on the market today
These Radion G4 Pros are the best lights on the market today. I've been running these for a year and I have no complaints. The new lenses give great spread and the software is probably the easiest to operate out of all the other manufacturers. I'm still pissed I had to pay $100 for a reeflink after paying $800 a piece for 2 lights but now that I have other ecotech equipment it makes the investment worth it.
over hipe and not reliable
those are expensive and dont worth what they ask 2 out of 3 broke within 3 month my last ecotech product. Previous maxspect was better that those
Terrible disco effect
BRS sold me (2) XR15 G4's i had them for less then 24 hours later I want my mobey back. Apparently there open box policy states all sales are final. Last time I purchase anything from BRS.
