Good with caveats By Mark on 8/20/2017

I just finished putting this together. First, you need a 3/4" drill bit (I didn't have one), and you get plastic shavings everywhere. Once that is done, then it's just a question of scoring/cutting the acrylic rod to the correct length and then putting the fittings together. I'm rating this as 3 stars for several reasons: 1) The acrylic rod doesn't fit tightly enough into the plastic bulkhead to maintain a seal - if you use flexible tubing, then the seal is much better and dripping is much more reliable. I could Crazy Glue/silicone the acrylic rod in place, and may still do that; 2) I don't like the idea of blowing into some tubing to start the siphon (as it turns out, a 20 cc syringe placed at the outlet tubing and drawn back creates enough suction to start the siphon); and 3) if this works, it may be an improvement - soft airline tubing also fits in well enough to maintain a siphon, and I plan on trying an IV roller clamp to adjust drip rates. It's not here yet; if that works, then I would see that as an upgrade to the valve which is a little inconvenient for fine tuning drips. Had I known how much work it would be, I'd have probably bought a cheap dosing pump to be placed in the container, but we'll see how this goes.

It went together fast, no problems. I used a tupperware 3/4 gallon container with a relatively soft plastic top. I had no problem with the build. I have the valve down to a drop every 10 seconds, that took some time to get it regulated. I think that the valve is to large to get the drips to where I think that they need to be, however that being said, it works and with some minor mods it believe that I can even get to drip at a slower rate

I built just as the video, with the oxo container. Blowing does not start the siphon and the ball valve can't adjust down enough to a drip per second, it's either flowing or stopped.
Honestly, I can't believe your pushing this setup with a video. I could see someone dumping too much kalk at once into a tank, there is zero control on this setup.

I used this to improve my ATO container. Works exactly as intended.

Great little DIY package. can be used to Drip Kalk, or can be hooked up to a dosing pump and used as a dosing container.

Getting all these fittings from BRS is cheaper than going to a box store. They are quality fittings and for all those that say they don't come apart once put together, well, they are entirely wrong. They are kinda like Chinese handcuffs, you have to push in before pulling out. Maybe Ryan could do a quick video to show everyone how easy it really is. Then only complaint is the valve being difficult to get a slow drip-say around 1 or 2 drops per second. When you get it set properly you find hours later that it has to be adjusted again. But other than that there are no leaks or problems at all.

This product did not meet my expectations, nor did it work as promised. I'm going to toss this and get a dosing pump.

This kit was just what I needed to convert a simple Tupperware container into an ATO top off reservoir. Worked great with the pump I got from these guys. Thanks BRS!

This is a great device for drop acclimation or dosing calc. I would buy again

The instructional video made it very easy. One thing you do need to check is whatever container you choose make sire the lid is not very thick so its easy to drill or cut through. Walmart carries inexpensive gallon containers with thin screw on lids.
