  • Difference in Checkers By on 9/30/2017

What's the difference in the Alkalinity Checkers? H1772 and H1755? The Hanna Reps at Reefapalooza sold me the H1755 reagent solution for the H1772 checker they sold me. Told me they were the same. Please advise.
  • Got this on Sale - Glad I did By on 9/7/2017

Put off buying this due to price and had 2 different titration kits I wanted to use up. Got this on sale and decided this is the time. Open box and 5 min to first result. Took 2 min second test. My test shows too high. I'm going to slowly drop dosage and monitor daily. 4 stars as the tray in box is an afterthought on Hanna's part. The conversion is real easy so saving $9.00 on the sale was OK. Also Apex Fusion does the conversion automatically if you enter your test data. Converts from ppm to dKH. Overall, I do like the test
  • Easy to use, quick, and accurate By on 4/28/2017

The results compare directly to Salifert and API. The accuracy and consistency seem very good. Make sure you measure 1.0 ml of the reagent and keep the vial clean when done. Rinse with RODI each time and store vial inverted to dry. Simple and quick.
  • Waste of money By on 4/5/2017

Never was accurate, even after replacing the calibration fluid. I mean it was so far off it almost killed my tank.
  • Very easy to use By on 3/23/2017

This is a great checker. The digital read out is really nice. So much better than counts drops and shaking like the Red Sea kit.
  • Great Product By on 1/15/2017

This product takes the pain out of testing manually. Loved it!
  • Digital Results By on 10/31/2016

No Guessing, digital readout, i am sold! Great to have a definite number to go with the results.
  • So much better. By on 7/26/2016

Now this it a tester I like. the only way it could be easier would be if it was a probe. I made the mistake of ordering the ppm tester when I wanted the dKH one, but in the package has a sheet that has the multiplier to go from ppm to dKH so no biggy.
  • Pluses and Minuses By on 5/16/2016

Pluses - Easy and fun to use, which means I'm testing more; it's accurate.

Minuses - You have to manually do the conversion to DKH or meq/L, which seems odd for an electronic device. The box is comes in is funky and not designed well. It's not as fast as some say, but still easier and faster than a Red Sea type tester. The instruction manual is simple to understand, but a little weak on information.
  • The best…..when it works By on 4/8/2016

So this is easily the best Alk checker when Hannah has their reagent working properly. Sometime in Novemeber 2015 (maybe sooner) they changed packaging so that when the liquid reagent encounters the bottle lid, it somehow deactivates the reagent. This was addressed, and supposedly fixed! Well, guess what? Still same problem!! I finally ordered a "Salifert" kit and my Alk level tested higher than the max level…..the max is 15.8! I kept dosing Alk based on my Hannah reading low levels. For those of you that do not know, anything higher than 12 is high for Alk, and my tank runs about 9. This is a sps killer. I do believe Hannah will fix the problem but how can you trust the product. I'll constantly be double checking!! I cannot recommend at this time!!!
